New Owner makes all the difference. Jonathan's Restaurant is not what the place used to be, thank goodness. We enjoy going there several times a month, both to meetings of our groups that meet there and just for the food and atmosphere, by ourselves or with friends. They have also added shows on Fridays and Saturdays, most of which are quite enjoyable, and good quality compared to what is available in the area. The new owner has cleaned up everything and the service is good, with a friendly atmosphere. I suggest you might want to try it, maybe see a show, and write your own review! Nice change!

What happened to the previous owner?????. I am employed at a new restaraunt owned by the previous Tryon House owner. According to the "locals", the owner sold the Tryon House because he was caught embezzeling. I would love to know if this is true. If anyone has any information reguarding this, please pass it on. I am aware that his business practices are very unethical, ranging from poor customer relations to smoking in the kitchen. Not to mention leaving food uncovered overnight, as well as sexual harrassment with servers. Many are in the process of reporting him for employing illegal immigrants, as well as paying all overtime under the table. All of this is known, his past, however, is in question.

Things have changed with new owner. I just wanted to change my review as well since the new ownership has made a huge difference in the place! They have reduced the amount of animals on the property cleaned up and things seem to be much better. Its worth giving it a try even if you had a problem before.

the best. The best resturant in Charlotte. I have eaten there at least twenty times and it still is good
