OMG ITS AMAZING!!!!!!!!. This is seriously the best mexican restaurant in the world!!!!

The people who said disapointed are freakin crazyyy! it is sooooo good! its my favorite restaurant ever!! the staff is so nice and entertaining! ive been going there since i was 2 and i still go there on a regular basis!

Disappointed. My husband and I have been eating at El Valle for years and went at least once per month, using a coupon over half of the time. My husband usually chooses from the combination plates and I get a large sopa de pollo, big enough for two meals for me and priced about $7.00. There has NEVER been a problem using a coupon for the soup as it is large enough for an entrée and certainly too big to be considered an appetizer. Last night we placed our usual order; however, when we went to pay, we were told that the coupon was not good for the soup. When we explained that it has always been accepted, the manager was sent to our table. He was arrogant to say the least and just short of rude. He said that the coupon is never accepted for the soup, that he didn’t “know who we talked to” and that he is “the only one who can make that decision”. As I said, we’ve been using the coupon for the soup for a long, long time and it has never been questioned by any of the wait staff. He only wanted to talk with my husband and did not want to make eye contact with me. I told him we would pay for the soup but we would not be back – the cost of the soup is minimal but his attitude was inexcusable. What ever happened to the customer being right? He should have offered to accept the coupon this time but explain that it wouldn’t be honored again for soup. In fact, my husband suggested that, and he refused emphatically. I don’t think he realized that he was running off long standing and loyal customers. Even though I think the food is just adequate (with the exception of the soup), the staff has always been polite, the margaritas are good and it has been my husband’s favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. We live in the Cotswold area so it takes us about fifteen minutes to drive – longer in late afternoon traffic. We will miss going there but we would rather spend our money (with or without coupons) somewhere where we are treated with respect.

A pleasent, delightful, authentic dining experience. We decided to try El Valle for the first time - the place is actually kind of hidden in Matthews, often drove by it but never happened to drop in to give it a shot. We have tried a few other local Mexican restaurants and this one has larger serving sizes and even better service. Their menu is not too large and intimidating and the prices are also reasonable. The food was hot, service fast and with generous proportions. We also enjoyed a pitcher of Dos Equis (weekend special $7) to wash it all down. I will definitely be back and look forward to my next dining experience.

Disappointed!!. We will not be going back, nor would we recommend this restaurant. I am surprised at the other reviews b/c we did not care for anything that we ordered. We have eaten at 100's of Mexican restaurants, some in AZ, TX and NM so maybe that is our problem!

We were there at lunch time on Memorial Day and there were hardly any people there during the time we were there.

Excellent Food and Service. This is an excellent Mexican restaurant-truly one of the best I've tried in Charlotte (and I've tried a few). The waiters are friendly and the chips and salsa (which are delicious) are refilled constantly. Pick anything you like off the menu and you can be assured that not only will it be well prepared but affordable as well. In my opinion, this is the only mexican restaurant in Charlotte for me.

THE BEST MEXICAN REST !. I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT,I ALWAYS HAVE THE FAJITAS AND OF COURSE A JUMBO MARGARITA! THEY HAVE MADE A COUPLE RENOVATIONS,ESPECIALY THE BAR IT LOOKS GREAT(BIG SCREEN TV)YOU CAN HAVE BIG PARTIES OF PEOPLE AND THEIR IS ENOUGH SPACE FOR EVERY ONE.AND THE DESSERTS ARE SO GOOD ESPECIALY THE CHEESECAKE CHIMICHANGA!HOPE YOU TRY IT!

the ONLY mexican restaurant!!. All I can say about El Valle is that it is by far the best authentic mexican restaurant I have been to in Charlotte. The chips and salsa are incredible and they never stop coming to your table! I order the Shrimp Soup every single time and all I can say is that it is AMAZING! I crave it ALL the time! I have become a regular at El Valle and recomend it to everyone. Now, let me say one thing...Do not let the atmosphere lure you away from eating here. Although it isn't the prettiest place, the food makes it all worth it! Go to El Valle!
