In Short – Across from the Davidson College campus, it looks like it hasn't changed since it opened in 1951 with vinyl booths and laminated tables and walls of original Wildcat athletic paraphernalia. The crowd is a mixture of young families, older alums, and the earthy-crunchy college crowd. Burgers, club sandwiches and wraps coexist peacefully with a few vegetarian selections. For dessert, they offer "The Best Old Fashioned Milkshake," a phosphate, or an ice cream soda, among others.

The Soda Shop is super-cute and serves really great ice-cream, but it is a tad pricey (for this college student). Lunch can easily be over 10 bucks per person. The servers are often not the nicest, and it can be REALLY crowded with young kids after school during the year. But, it really is a fun place to try once.
- Pros: Great decorations, Interesting choices
- Cons: Little pricey, Crowded, Uncomfortable booths
