Don't work for Abbey builders if you want to get paid

If you are approached by Abbey Builders to do any kind of work turn around and run fast. They owe everyone money for work on homes that have already been sold. They will promise you all of these large contracts if you are willing to lower your charge. Then good luck getting paid in full because when they are done with you they will hire someone else to do the next job. They will pay you as little as possible to keep you moving forward to seem like they are honest but you will never see all of what you are owed even though you discounted everything to a point you are working for free anyway. They use everyone elses money because they have none and when they do get some it disppears most likely in to their own accounts. What the above poster says about the owner Paul being a hot head is a tip of the iceburg. He loses his temper randomly and screams like a 2 year old even at his girlfriend/ business partner that he has the business name under for unknown reasons but one can assume based on his business practices. There are many subs chasing them down for invoices well over a year old who can also share similar experiences as well as ones beyond belief. Whatever you do don't work for or buy a home from Abbey Builders or you will regret overpaying on broken promises and empty savings.

BUYER BEWARE - Warranty followup is terrible - Bad Customer Service after the sale

Abbey Builders is a TERRIBLE company to work with. Their workmanship is subcontracted and is only average. It is a family-run business and the builder is a hothead. Most residents in the subdivision they built in Matthews, NC are unhappy with the lack of customer service and warranty work. Note: Many of the positive reviews are written by the builder or members of his immediate family and do not reflect reality.

BUYER BEWARE !! Don't Buy an Abbey Builders house !!

• Cons: abusive and combative, you'll wait forever for warranty work, small company with limited resources
