Tips for Mortimer's Cafe & Pub

Great for football and better than average bar food. The big diaw is the best sandwich ever.

Breath of Fresh Air in the EpiCentre. First off, let me say this is one of my favorite spots. Servers are always extra-friendly (which is rare for uptown) and a few of them know me by name.

Really weird review below......

this is one of the most straightforward bars I've been to. Super reasonable uptown drink prices, and most of the time the servers end up trying to save me money letting me know the best drink special to order for what I wanted.

As far as food goes, try the Coach Magazu Panini. Amazing, I don't know what kind of BBQ sauce is on it but I love it. And I think it's like $9 with a side included.

And if you're not grubbin' out there's always cute guys there anyways :) Great spot overall!!

Special drinks. If you visit this pub and order a daily special whiskey on the rocks be prepared to pay 50% more than the advertised special price. This happened to our group and the best the manager would do is take off a dollar.

Note to management, a special is a special! Maybe most of the patrons won't figure out they have been charged more (cell phone companies do it all the time) but if they do they may not be back!!!

Friendly Staff, Neighborhood Bar Feel in High Energy Area. I've been to Mortimers a few times now and each time I like it more and more. Tucked away in a less traveled area of the Epicentre (still busy) this small-medium sized pub is doing it right.

As soon as you walk in Mortimer's has a neighborhood feel which is a nice change from the high energy-faced paced bars in the complex. Mortimer's reminds me of an euro style pub with wood accents, large prominent bar and pub like seating. Although it tends to be a more laid back crowd, there is still a wide range of people that typically come in, from young and good looking singles , professional athletes (Boris Diaw is part owner) and middle aged couples.

The food is good, and a decent value for the quality they are producing. The barstaff is extremely friendly, and seem genuinely happy to see you and help you out, especially Bob.

Mortimers Charlotte. Went to Mortimers after a Bobcats game a few weeks ago and had a great time. Really good food and it had a pretty good local bar feel. Much better than the last place was here. This is a good place to go when you dont feel like being slammed into blackfinn.

Has a pretty solid menu....I think I had sliders? I can't really remember I just know whatever we had it was good. 5 stars for sticking to the basics.
