Awful customer service. The customer service in this place is awful. We waited for an hour and a half only to be told that they gave our table away. The manager did not offer an apology for the mistake and informed us that he could put us back on the list for another half an hour. He did not make any attempts to remedy for issue instead didn't care if we were going to write a bad review about the restaurant. The place is extremely loud for any kind of outing with friends and expect an extremely long wait that you may not be able to get in.

Soul's not shinin'. This used to be one of my favorite places to go to. They had everything on point the first year they were open but I feel its slowly going downhill. Food and service seem to be spotty each time I go. But I always enjoy the lively atmosphere with the live dj and hot beats. Good place for drinks and sushi, if your patient:)

So/So. The food is decent, waitresses are decent but the Hostesses are not friendly, and act as if you should be honored to eat in the restaurant. I cant say I wouldnt go back again, but I wont be in a rush to make that happen. If I had to give them a grade it would be a C- Not failing, but hardly qualifies as Stellar!

Marginal at best.. Was excited to go to Soul hearing it was different. The staff was quick, responsive and pleasant. Unfortunately the food was marginal. Crab cake special had bones in every other bite. Friends and I went early enough to get a table, had dinner + 3 drinks each, then were formerly kicked out of the booth by the owner once we paid our checks. Sad, the 4 of us will not return nor recommend.

Good Food, Bad Set Up. Saturday evening, myself and 3 others had went to Soul for dinner around 720pm. Yes, I know it was Saturday night and I did expect to wait, but this was a little daunting. Upon check in the hostess stated that there would be a 25-35 minute wait, which was no problem.

We walked up to the bar and ordered some drinks and talked for a while. The hostess did not seem like she knew what order people were in, and there did not seem to be a system to notifying people when tables would be ready. After 45 minutes, we were told no one is really moving, we should have something shortly. After an hour, still nothing, hope to have something soon.

Finally after an hour and 15 minutes, we get seated....OUTSIDE. Well, it was a plastic covered balcony. It was cold and worst of all the restaurant allowed smoking out there in a covered part of the building with the only air coming from one end by where you enter the restaurant, needless to say you reeked of smoke when you left the building.

The food was decent, but would not go back because this place has a lot more negatives than it's worth. I don't get to Plaza Midwood too often, so maybe this is normal for over there.

TERRIBLE service. Soul Gastrolounge has a great atmosphere, but should be listed as a bar rather than restaurant. There is very limited seating for dining, which leads to extremely long waits and perhaps the poor service. Furthermore, for a two-hour wait, plus another hour for food, should lead to exceptional food. The food here is good, but not great.
