Bad service!. Seated right away then totaly ignored by the waitress, after several minutes got up ang left!

Great food!. I have eaten at Big View on many occasions and can say that everything I have ever had there was delicious! I have ordered varieties of food and even desserts that are always palate pleasing! I recommend eating there to anyone in the area. I LOVE Big View Diner!!

Don't listen to these idiots.. Don't miss out on giving a GREAT resturant a chance. I am in the resturant buisness and have lived in NYC for 35 years. I moved to the south 5 years ago. I have eaten in the finest & the worst, and The Big View diner is far the worst I have ever eaten in. I believe for the amount of time that the Big View has been open, they deserve a five star fighting chance. They have provided jobs for the people of Charlotte and they put out good food. They are far from expensive and I feel when ever you are in the area you should definately try them out , you will not be sorry.

As for the people that could not be happy even if God himself came down and cooked the food for them, you should just take your family to Wendys and stay the hell out of places that are continuing to grow and bless the Carolinas with good food. Dont miss out. Go Enjoy ... Remember, you should always give a resturant 3 trys.

Flies! Flies! Flies!. Charlotte has spoken and the majority of people agree that this place is a waste of money. It's not even worthy of one star. The food sits out at the counter for a very long time while a guy is busy tossing heaps of salt to fries , ignoring the flies sitting on the food and 10 minutes later the cold food arrives at the table. Usually when you have flies hovering around, it means that the place is not very clean. Add to that the price of food coupled with the unpleasant staff, it really is not worth even one try. They got a new chef and it's worst than the old one. So the trend is moving toward things getting worse rather than better. For what you spend here for a quick bite, you can go to a real restaurant and get a full meal.

Not a real diner and the food is not very good either. We got there about 4:30 pm and it wasn't very busy. Our first indication of a bad meal was that they had no crayons for our kids. So, they were given papers to draw on but nothing to write with.

The next indication was we received a basket of stale bread and corn muffins.

Lastly, my wife ordered the turkey and I ordered the Tennessee Ribs. Both were very dry. It tasted like they both were microwaved a few times.

I guess I missed having a real diner like I had in New York. Those diners served all types of food all day. I hoped the food would make up for it. It didn't. Very disappointing.

Don't ever take a large group!. Our group was looking for a place to have a going away party for a friend. I called and made reservations for 20 people 4 days before the event. The next day, I received a phone call to confirm the reservation. The day of the event, I called two hours prior to the event to confirm the reservation again. We arrived at the diner 2 minutes early only to be given blank looks and to be told that another group had been given our seats 15 minutes earlier.

We asked to speak with a manager who told us she had no clue about our reservation. Meanwhile, the hostess told me that her computer showed we had already been seated. We asked to speak with the owner, and he never came to talk to us. He looked at our group three times, but never walked over to talk to us.

Thirty minutes later, we STILL had no seats. Thirty five minutes later, we finally walked out and went to another restaurant down the street and enjoyed a nice, quiet evening on the patio.

Horrible Service, ok food. When your food is brought out to you, the serviers usually ask if you need anything else. My wife did ask for some Ketchup. Simple enough right? Well the reply we got back was, "Of course not." The waiter walked over to where the ketchup is picked it up looked at us, put it back down, then proceeded to help the larger party next to us.

When a meal is getting towards the end, managers typically come out and ask how was your meal. Well he did and we told him what had happened. He looked at us with a look that made us think we were crazy for thinking this was odd or poor service.

Another manager came out later to ask us about our food. I assumed she has heard about our poor service from the other manager. However, it did not seem she had. Instead she wanted to quiz me on why I did not like my food. I tried to be polite. I just said I was a picky eater. However, the truth is that is was dry and tasted like it had been reheater several times.

Please trust me. This is not a place you should spend your hard earned money. There are many other options and almost all have better service.
