Never going back.
If there was a lesser rating than 1*, this place deserves it. It was the second trrip for one couple and a third for another. None of us will go back again. And probably even with this review, management/ownership will not care.
From previous trips and present, the owner has favorites that he caters to and only cares about. The two servers/bartenders were working, although slowly, to wait tables and tend bar and the manager/owner stood around on his phone emailing or texting, oblivious to any other needs except those he deemed worthy. We had four people with two bottles of wine and he never acknowledged us at all.
Even with an un-crowded night, we waited at least 20 minutes for our drink orders to be taken. A party of 12 came in after us and was being served before our drink orders were even taken.
From top to bottom, this place needs some education in customer service.
A huge FAIL. Zero stars. The ambiance was great, food was a tad pricey but delicious and that's all the positive's about this place. The wine my friend's ordered was not very good. Most wine bars let you taste the wine first and then ask if you would like a glass, not this place. Both the waitress and manager were condescending towards us. If you are blond hair blue eyed, they probably welcome your type. Our group was not blond hair/blue eyed, and based on the waitress and manager's tone towards us we got the distinct impression people that look like us (I'll put it out there, african-american) were not welcome there. It would have been a great spot to add to our rotation because of the ambiance and food but after the visit on 3/12/11 we are never going back and we are telling all our friends to spend their money elsewhere where are patronage is welcome. This place is a big FAIL................
Low Key, Modern Wine Bar in Dilworth With Decent Selection.
Stopped in to the Wine Loft last night with a couple friends and was pleasantly surprised. We sat at the bar because the lounge portion (couches) were filled, but either way it was a great experience.
The atmosphere is typical of what one would think of when it came to wine bars. Hip modern upscale feel, but definitely a place where you can relax and take a load off after a long day.
The owner was in there last night and he was very helpful in picking what some good wines were for us to try. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. Although I didn't try any, the food looked pretty good for being a wine room first and restaurant second.
The have a pretty decent wine list both by the glass and bottle. They also have liquors and beers if you're not in the mood for wine. Would be a nice date night place whether for a first date or established relationships.
