Worth a second chance.. My friend took me to Roosters once and it was an odd visit. Bad service but great food. I had the mussels and she had the flank steak. We will go back to see if the service improves.
Disappointing.
I had high hopes for Rooster's, seeing as my experiences at Noble's have always been fantastic, but I left disappointed.
Our bbq chickens were cold and raw in the middle, and the bbq flavor wasnt what one would expect. The vegetables were soggy and bland. The best part of our dinner was the black, 'forbidden' rice. It was actually cooked very well, and there aren't many restaurants that serve it, so it was enjoyed.
Even if the chicken had been properly cooked, the food just wasn't that great, and the price was a little on the high side.
Like I said previously, I've always been a fan of Noble's, but Rooster's was a let-down. Even I can manage to cook a chicken to the correct temperature.
Pretty good,,,.
We went to Roosters last weekend to try it out and I have to say I was dissapointed. I have been to Noble and they have the same owner, so I expected a lot more (especially since I LOVE Noble).
It wasn't that the food was bad, it just wasn't extremely good. Our wine glasses came out dirty and hot (with expensive wine this is a no no) and the food was decent. My steak was cooked as I had ordered it but I can't say that I loved the wood flavor. I get my meat medium rare, but this tasted burnt on the outside.
If you ever go, the coconut cake dessert is fabulous and I would reccomend the Ceasar salad.
unimpressive.
A wall full of stuffed Roosters is what give this place it's name... REALLY? We found it creepy and not very creative.
Our waitress wasn't helpful- didn't make suggestions of what to order with our main courses- we just sort of stumbled through and assembled our own meals.
The beer-cheese soup was cold and absent of any beer flavor- and the au gratin potatoes were cold as well. The fried zucchini spears were very, very greasy. The parmesan gnocchi was as bland as plain gnocchi. The Hanger Steak was fatty and the flavor was no better than any run of the mill steak house. None of the food we were served had any "wood fired" flavor - it could have all been cooked on anyl grill.
Maybe we ordered the least popular/spectacular food on the menu- but there's no way we will go back again. Our single most disappointing meal in Charlotte yet.
