Tips for Tyndall Furniture

April 30, 2013

My husband and I purchased a queen size sofa bed and ottoman back in February 2013 from Dana at the Ft. Mill location. The sofa bed was delivered in late March as planned and everything was great. However, the throw pillows that came with the sofa are very firm, in fact so firm they aren’t comfortable and we can’t even use them. I took the 4 pillows to the store this week and asked if they could be “unstuffed” a little to make them more comfortable so that we can use and enjoy them. The salesmen that greeted me pulled my order, walked away and came back with the store manager, Jim.

Jim could not have been ruder to me. Said the pillows were stuffed with “high quality” Dacron (spelling?) and would soften up with use over time. Well they can’t be used because they are so over stuffed so how will they soften up over time? I asked him if he would like to take one and sit with it or lay down with it on a sofa and he said that wasn’t necessary and offered no other solution as far as what Tyndall furniture could do to help me. His “I don’t care attitude” rubbed me the wrong way.

Needless to say I will never do business with this company again. If working with me to solve a minor problem with 4 throw pillows is too much work for Tyndall Furniture then they obviously don’t need my future business.

We live in an affluent neighborhood in South Charlotte, my husband has been a CIO for 3 international companies over the past 25 years and currently a Managing Director at a large consulting firm known worldwide, we are actively involved in my community with various organizations and we will get the word out about our poor experience with Tyndall Furniture.

Reading their website this is a Christian company wow. 83 days have passed after putting my money in the bank of Tyndall I have yet to receive furniture. Paid in full the day of purchase and told 6 to 8 weeks I had to call with no response and drive to the Indian land store to find out they didn't have enough material to do both recliner and sofa in the 8th week. I was told I should have furniture first week in April nothing at this point but that not surprising at this point.

I purchased a sectional from Tyndall Furniture a few months ago and I absolutely love it! Not only did I get a good deal, but I also got great quality. My salesperson, Ellis, was very thorough and helpful. I was impressed with the delivery and set up of my furniture. I will definitely be shopping with the Tyndall's again!

They are the worst company that I have ever dealt with. First of all when I went there I paid in full. They gave me an estimated date of shipping to be 6-8 weeks out. I was informed later that they couldnt get what I wanted done because the fabric couldnt stretch on the headboard like it should. I was notified of this 3 weeks from ordering. I then asked for a refund and STILL have yet to receive it. It is now October and I ordered it late July!!! THENNNN the 8 weeks past and I was told it was going to arrive Sept. 26. I took time out of work to assemble it and it is not at the warehouse like I was said it was going to be. Might I add I talked with an associate 2 days prior to the date I was supposed to pick it up and I was never informed of that!!!! NOW they have no idea when in October it will come in! If it werent for the fact that the product that I am looking for is up to 6 weeks at another location I would cancel this order and pay even more to have it done! I will never recommend them or use them ever again! My word will be known and I will make well aware of how bad this company operates!!!!!!

Wow what a great experiance. I purchased my first home and had no idea how to even start furnishing it. When I entered Tyndall's Carolyn greeted me and started a conversation about what I needed. She and I worked for about 2 weeks and put together every room in my house. Most of the furiture was delivered within the month, 4 pieces were on back order and Carolyn called me to inform me of this fact. I had a scratch on a table and called customer service, they sent a service tech out the next week to fix it. I have been so happy with the way my home turned out I can't imagine buying furniture anywhere else.

***Liers*** No Christian Morals There*** All Liers***. I spent around $5,000 on a sectional couch 3years ago and bought a 5 year warranty at the time of purchase. My cat had an accident on 2 of the pieces. I call Tyndall to find out what I need to do to get this fixed under warranty, after a week and a half and several voice mails later I finally get in touch with the service manager who informs me I need to contact the warranty company (guardsman). I call and make a claim with the company (guardsman) they send me a form to fill out. I call service manager at Tyndall to get some help with filling out the paper work, she tells me that I need to report that the damage happened while I was at work and that it happened the previous day. (since it took me 2 weeks to even talk to someone at Tyndall to find out I needed to contact guardsman) I asked her what I needed to do to get 2 pieces replaced, she goes on to say "maybe you need to get your kids to start chewing on it." I read to her the exact words I wrote on the report and she said "that will work." Long story short my couch had a stain now it has holes because the service manager told me what needed to be done for the pieces to be replaced. Guardsman denied the claim, the store manager and the service manager both lied to my face and said I would be responsible for the damage. Remember, the furniture was not damaged (only had a stain) until I was told what need to happen in order for it to be replaced. They are crooks and liers. They will not receive any business from me or anyone I know. The service manager denies that she told me what needed to be done to get the pieces replaced and the store manager will not take responsibility for his employee. Service manager also lied about trying to reach me by email and never once returned one of MANY voice mails. It is sad to see that these so called christian people would lie and treat their customers the way they do.

This is posted under the About Tyndall on their website

***The family of Tyndall Furniture as well as the employees have learned there is a joy in giving back to God. He has enlarged our territory of ministry far beyond our wildest dreams. For the past 24 years we have joined in partnership with God to advance His Kingdom's business.

What joy we have received thinking that we had a small part in the ministry of so many places here in Charlotte and around the world. Some of the ministries we have been blessed to help our the Salvation Army, Charlotte Rescue Mission, Charlotte Christian School, Carmel Baptist School, SIM International, Reformed Seminary, Campus Crusade for Christ, 91.9 Radio, World Vision, Life Outreach International, Habitat for Humanity and many others. The Bible says in Proverbs 19:17 "He that giveth to the poor, lendeth to the Lord, and the Lord pays in handsome interest"

So what can we say? To God be the glory for allowing saved sinners like us to be in partnership with Him. We haven't worn the world but with His Word, we have won som

Great service until they got our money!. Fort Mill location. Had a great sales experience with salesperson/owner, and planned to eventually purchase more furniture in the future. We were happy that we found a great locally owned business with "Christian Values" (stated on their website). We would rather spend our money locally than send it overseas also. Unfortunately we cannot recomend this company to anyone. We ended up spending more money than we originaly planned on spending because of the quality of the product and the service we were receiving.

We were told that we could order coordinating pillows to match an accent chair that we purchased with a leather sofa and loveseat.

Long story short: both parties forgot to mention pillows at checkout. We called first thing the next morning to add to the order. Salesman/owner was not able to come to phone. Left message with associate. Call not returned by 2:00 same day. Called again and left another message with same associate. Have yet to hear from salesman/owner that day or any of the 7 days and 6 messages after that. Found out through another salesperson that the fabric was discontinued and couldn't get pillows. Fortunately I have found another company to get the fabric and pick up where Tyndall left off. They got our money and that's all that matters to them. I guess they don't care about repeat business, and I guess their "Christian Values" end at the time of sale! They will receive no future business from me or any of my family.

Even if you bargin you are still paying to much. Compare the prices and you will save every time. Make sure you compare the Tyndall Pedic mattress sets to other companies.
