Wow is all I can say about my moving
crew, They worked hard, were carefull with my furniture, no damage to my walls or furniture.
I called the office in November to schedule my December move, I was given a 600 estimate to move my 3 bed room 1700 sq ft home, my home was heavily furnished with lots of boxes so I expected it to be a little more than that, but it was 600 right on, these guys were fast!
I have used sawyers before, I moved from Charlotte to Raleigh and they did that move also. I only had one problem, I could not find my TV remote, I called the company and they sent me a check for 15$ to buy a new remote, then last week I found the lost remote in a box, I called to return the $15 they sent me and they told me not to be worried about returning the money, these are really honest guys, very nice to do business with!
They came in a day early and boxed up my kitchen, I had some expensive and I did not want to take a chance of it breaking, I dont have any experience packing those things, If you are looking for a highly rated good company check these guys out you will be glad you did I was happy with them!
These guys had a large truck and all of my goods fit in one trip, They had all the required equipment, they were dressed sharp in uniforms, and were nice and professional, I wish I had sons as nice as this,
Sawyer’s Moving: the moving company
from hell
I was in need of assistance for a local move of about 7 miles. On my prior move, about four years ago but with essentially the same stuff, two teenagers loaded all of my stuff into a truck in barely an hour, doing a good job, and on unloading, one good worker did it alone, in under an hour. When I first called Sawyer’s moving, I explained that the drive time from the old place to the new place is about ten minutes, and that two men should be able to load and unload in less than three hours. The cost estimate was $300, and that amount is the most that it should have cost. It ended up being nearly $400, and was nothing but a rip-off. They were supposed to arrive with TWO men, but THREE men showed up, and only one of them made any real effort to work. They all took turns taking little short breaks, for a job that should have been completed in three hours. The driver took a little lunch break. He ate a can of vienna sausages, and I later found the can in my recycling bin and his plastic fork in the driveway next to where the truck was parked.
Just a few minutes before the time that they were supposed to arrive, I got a call from the driver. He said he was late, but did not seem to have any idea where he was going, and even less of an idea where he was. He kept insisting that he was in South Carolina rather than North Carolina, and told me several times that Raleigh and Charlotte were in South Carolina, not North Carolina. He talked back to me and spoke in a very rude, belligerent tone. I called the number that I originally had called to schedule the move. It turns out that this number is the home phone number for a lady who does the scheduling, out of her home.
They eventually showed up, nearly a half-hour late. All three of them were wearing sleeveless shirts, and looked like they had just crawled out of some hole somewhere. They would not take direction from me at all. I repeatedly asked them to support boxes from the bottom, and they ignored me. The younger white fellow insisted on carrying too many boxes at once and carrying them on his back with his arms precariously wrapped around the sides of the boxes. When unloading in the new place, he backed himself up against the wall and let the cardboard boxes slide down the wall, marking the paint in the process. I had to ask him several times not to do that. The two other fellows spent a good deal of the time arguing with each other.
These are NOT professional movers. It is a company owned and operated by a man who somehow managed to buy himself some trucks. He might know how to make his company successful financially, but his employees are untrained and undisciplined. The person who schedules the moves operates out of her house. There is no way in h@ll that I would ever let Sawyer’s Moving move me again. Do NOT use this company.
