Nice Atmosphere, Decent Food, Lots of Selection.
Have been to icehouse numerous times over the past couple of months and never really have a problem with anything...but also nothing makes me want to rant and rave about how great it is.
The food is good, apparently a spin off of sunset grille/las ramblas/macs ownership...I get a different story every time I go in there as to where it was derived from. I do see a few of the macs waitresses working there so i'm going to go with that option. The BBQ quesadilla is pretty good but the wings I would pass on. Just not my style. They are smoked and not crispy at all. Some people like that and if you do, this may be the place where you want to try them. Not for me so much. There is plenty to choose from at this place so give it a shot.
There is a large bar downstairs and a big social area with pool tables on the upper level. This place looks like it can seat about 300 people or so, it's really large inside, unfortunately I've been there different days of the week and times and I've only seen it packed one time on a Thursday night for football.
The drink prices are a little above average, beer selection is large, but you pay for the premium brews. Full liquor bar.
Not sure how this place will fare past the 1st year. It's good but not great...It's too big of a space and not enough following, don't really see much advertising except for there 10 foot lettering on the outside of the building. Nothing really sets it apart from any other pub/eatery in south end at this point.
