Pretty Much My Favorite Restaurant :).
This is pretty much my favorite restaurant. Enough said? Not really...
The food speaks for itself. Apparently the reviewers before me have the same taste buds as I do. The French Dip is amazing, the mac 'n cheese is delicious (and I've been known to judge restaurants based solely on their mac 'n cheese), and the quesadillas are so fresh. You can really tell that this food is prepared with the freshiest ingredients and with creativity.
The atmosphere is very cool here. It is laid back, but still sophisticated. The staff are always friendly. It's never too loud or crowded, so it's the perfect place to take out-of-towners. Great place to grab a beer and quality food.
Like I said, one of my favs.
Best new local restaurant. I have had dinner here twice in the past week and a half and they don't disappoint. The spinich artichoke au gratin dip is to die for. The french dip sandwich is a steal at 9 bucks with a side (go all the way with the mac and cheese!). The barbecue is pulled pork (slow cooked, tender and tasty). I can't wait to try their brunch menu. I have very high standards and this place is a great value for the money, it is super clean and the staff is attentive and friendly! Great interior, comfortable tables/set up; not too loud for conversation with friends. What's not to love? Oh and they have a 2.50 draft special on Tues nights.
Excellent....my new favorite neighborhood spot.
I can't agree more with the below review. I've dined here a few times now and feel its worth given some props. The food quality is excellent with fresh ingredients and great preparation.
I tried the french dip that turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. Fresh, tender meat, excellent bread, & au jus that had just enough salt.
My friends had the quesadilla (watch out...they might have the spiciest jalapeños ever) and the 2nd time I went I had the brisket sandwich. Again....(now I feel like I'm advertising for the place) tender brisket fresh ingredients.
Cheap, fresh, nice staff. good beer selection….well worth the trip.
New Restaurant in Dilworth Worth Trying.
UPDATE: Had lunch here last week and it was awesome. Without a doubt the best sandwich I've had in a long time is Sunset's Beef Brisket sandwich. Extremely tender and flavorful brisket beats out that of local BBQ joints. Highly recommend.
Had lunch a couple of weeks ago in the restaurant which once housed Las Ramblas, now a totally different concept introducing a fresh menu and atmosphere. The inside is very clean and southern in style. Wicker chairs at the tables and although it's a laid back atmosphere, the tables are dressed as if it were more on the formal side.
The lunch menu is a nice spread of items including burgers, sandwiches and pizzas. I had ordered the French Dip which was rather large in portion and very fresh tasting. It came with a choice of side and I had ordered the macaroni and cheese, which was pretty good. My colleague had the burger with fries and had no complaints either.
The one issue that I could see being a problem with this place is the smell. Being that it's a wood fired cooking system in place, it leaves the dining room smelling of a fire or cooked food on a fire. Personally I don't really mind it, I actually think it gives it a nice rustic and quality feel to the way they prepare the food, but I could see how some may be turned away by it.
I will try this place again, maybe for dinner at some point. I think they will do just fine in this neighborhood, but they definitely need some more advertising and street presence. The sign attached to the building goes along with their rustic theme, but its a brown sign on a brick facade, which really just blends together if you're not paying attention.
