Great Atmosphere, Needs Some Exposure. Have been here a few times in the past, more often lately since I just moved down the street and I really enjoy this place. The staff is friendly and will remember your face which gives it a neighborhood feel despite its trendy contemporary decor and atmosphere.

They have a wide selection of infusions and martinis which have been good for the most part. They also have full liquor shelf and beers by the bottle. A few nights a week they have drink specials, I think on Thursdays they have Red Bull & Vodka drinks for 5 bucks which is nice.

My advice is to go with a group of friends who you enjoy being with and go nuts. You will probably be the majority of people there and it will be a good time. If they have a DJ you will be sure to have a good time seeing that they have wide open floor plan and good sound equipment. This place should be busy all the time considering its really the only mid-high end bar in that part of south end, but I think being in the bottom of a commercial/mixed use building scares people away, or just lets it go unnoticed...also the parking can be a little odd.

I like the place and when it eventually does get busy, I will probably look back and wish it was like it is now, but then again, it needs to make money to stay alive.

Laid back Sat night out at On The Roxx Southend. Visited On the Roxx Southend for the first time after dining at a local restaurant a few blocks away last Sat night. I had heard this place opened a few months ago and was curious to see how it was since we were all in the mood for a “Classy Drink” haha. I work near the location in Ballantyne and have NEVER had anyone talk about going there, or have ever seen anything going on there. (No offense B-tyne location)

My first impression - this place looked pretty cool when we walked in…there was about 6 of us. Interior was flashy, decorated nice, but not overdone (thanks ikea!). Music was pretty surprising too in a good way; had a mix of classic rock, pop, and hip-hop. Since we got there a bit early we figured it wouldn’t be too clubbed (or lounged) out at 9:30. As the night went on and the DJ arrived, it got much more hip-hop oriented.

As far as the drinks go, it seems they specialize in and have many infusions. We were told by all the bartenders that they are all vodka and really strong…we all disagreed. Either our whole group was terrible at sensing “strength” in our drinks, or these were as fruity as (insert funny metaphor here…I’ll keep this PG). Not too mention we’d order like 4 at a time and 2 or 3 didn’t even half way fill up the martini glass they came in.

Overall fun place even though I had some minor critiques. I thought this would be the place I would see a bachelor party or a group “pre-gaming” before a night out on the town…but didn’t really see much of a crowd and we left at 11:15. I guess I should come back again to see for myself.

I’m still undecided if I would go out of my way to come back, probably just with my girlfriend for a laid-back drink or two.
