Tips for ENSO Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar

January 02, 2013

We didn't have a good experience. My group went for a bachlorette party and while food was okay, the service was snotty and horrible. We honestly only had them come back to check once and didn't refill drink or dessert orders. I felt horrible for my friend and while maybe a "bad server" situation, was disappointed overall. Took a lot for us to go out and it was ruined by server sucking

Just Fabulous!!!. The sushi was amazing and they have an absolutely wonderful selection of sake and other drinks. I've also had the opportunity to taste some of their other menu items and it was absolutely delicious! The decor and atmosphere of the establishment complimented the food beautifully! I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone! Thanks for the great service and food!

The Best Sushi in Charlotte. Let me start out by saying that Enso, without a doubt, has the best sushi in the Charlotte area. I normally am not a fan of the cuisine, but the sushi was so fresh and well-prepared that it absolutely trumped any that I have ever had before.

I agree with the other reviewers that the decor and atmosphere as a whole are very contemporary and trendy, only adding to the overall experience. It is located at the Epicenter, the heart of Charlotte's night life, with lots of clubs and bars adjoining. If you're visiting locally and looking for something to do at night, I recommend that this be where you start.

They provide a wide variety of classic sushi favorites as well as more modern takes, including Maryland crab cake rolls and pieces with flash-fried shrimp and kiwi slices. Along with sushi they have a slurry of other menu options, so everyone in your party is likely find something to please their palate.

I will admit that it can be a little noisy with a live DJ and a bar, so it might not be the best place to take a first date or someone you are really looking to converse with, but if you're looking for a good time and a place to chill with some friends, then Enso is the place for you.

Nice Gathering Place. We visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening and there was no wait. The decor is amazing and the ambiance really set the mood. The food sushi was pretty good but the prices were outrageous. $15 for a martini and my husband paid $25 for four 'jumbo'shrimp.

Great Ambiance, Overpriced. Had dinner the the other evening at Enso in the Epicentre and just like every other place in the Epicentre it's busy, but the quality of food at Enso is a good reason for the crowd.

The atmosphere in Enso is very nice and contemporary. It is sectioned off fairly well with a large bar area and lounge section on one side and a more proper dining experience on the other side with a sushi bar to watch the chef's prepare.

We started off with an Edamame appetizer which was, well Edamame, nothing special. I ordered a Salad with Ginger dressing; this is my new favorite Ginger dressing. It's light and flavorful, works just perfect. As entree I ordered some Sashimi and the 007 Roll. The roll was good, but not worth the $13. The sashimi was Hamachi and the waitress, I think was confused because I wanted Maguro (different kind of Fish), but either way it was fresh and a chance for me to try something new. Sashimi is served in 3 pretty big slices but runs you about $9 depending on the cut.

Overall if your looking to drop some loot to impress someone this is a pretty good place to do so. The atmosphere is good, there's plenty to do afterward nearby and its good quality. One thing that all restaurants in the Epicentre need to do is offer complimentary valet or validate parking with a meal purchase. I ended up paying $15 to park plus spent $75 on dinner.

UPDATE: Had dinner last night with a pretty influential group of people and was not impressed at all. There were 8 of us total and everyone agreed that this place needs some work. The service was sub par to say the least. I think we saw the waiter when we sat down, ordered and got the check. The sushi is great, i'll give them that...still overpriced but good. Deducting a star.

Best Sushi in CLT. Best Sushi in CLT. They have a great happy hour(4-7), $5 sushi rolls and $3 beer and wine! Service is always good, and the fresh sushi is incredible.
