Fun, unique and yummy. This is a great place to go by yourself or with your friends. Relaxed atmosphere and fresh pastries. I have had many items from the leak soup to the salted carmel brownies and it is always top notch. Walk around and take in the unique look. A must try!

Great Soups, Pastries and Coffee!. I love the soups ( especially Tomato, Crab) with a hot toasted baguette. As others noted,seating can be a bit of a challenge, not because of number of empty chairs, but because of the lack of table space due to one and two party tables taking up a six top with paperwork, long after they finished coffee. On the other hand, that is what makes it so nice! You never feel rushed! You can seat and work, surf, or play a board game over wonderful food and drink! The only real problem is they stopped using normal coffee and tea cups, and went to cheap paper cups. Their prices should warrant normal cups.

Awesome!. Beautiful atmosphere and delicious... well EVERYTHING!

Prices are a little on the high side so be prepared to spend at least 6 bucks on a little pastry and coffee. Well worth the money though.

Fabulous!. Amelies is a wonderful french bakery that is open 24/7. You can get delicious pastries and french press coffee while enjoying the eclectic people and atmosphere. - A must in Charlotte

Charlotte's BEST Bakery. Fantastic French Bakery with continental atmopshere and incredible pasteries! Don't miss the cream puffs or anything chocolate! The place is a little off the beaten track, just east of Up Town, but definitely worth the drive! It's open all the time and they're always baking something fresh! Good food...But best Dessert? Not a chance.. Sure it's a great place for lunch and being 24/7 is awesome! But to award best dessert to this place is quite ridiculous. Very limited in choice. All they have are pastries! When I want dessert I want something more. Plus, the pastries they do have are hardly ever fresh, always dry and warm as though zapped by the old microwave for ten seconds. Good food. Not dessert. Did not deserve this award.

really good pastries. i like the fact that they have good customer service and the pastries and desserts are out of this world.. this bakery is for people that understand the fact that dessert is not to be eaten to get your belly full .

Absolutely the BEST!. It doesn't come any better than Amelies'. The lunches are wonderful and it is definitely the place to go for ta late night meal. Their soup and bread are amazing.
