Love this place! Great food options and they know how to make a martini! 2 words Sugar Bacon. Try it, that is all.
Great atmosphere!!!. The atmosphere is unbeatable. Service was right on target with knowledgeable staff who know thier menu. Sunday brunch is a must go to. The only concern for me was the music. Needs to be more jazzy. The 80's are over.
Good food but missing something.
I have eaten quite a few times at Bricktops and each and every time it's a different experience, but that's not always a good thing to have. A few years ago when it first opened it was a nice social setting where the management knew the patrons and they seemed to really strive for your approval. It seems now that they still care about the restaurant (at least the kitchen does) but a lot of the staff just seems "there".
A couple of month's ago a group of four of us had gone there for dinner. We had ordered an appetizer and some drinks in the bar area booths. After a few drinks and talking, we decided to order dinner. We placed the order with our waitress and thats when it went south. We sat with empty drink glasses for 20-30 minutes at a time and then about an hour after we ordered, the waitress came back to our table and asked us if we wanted to order dinner....We replied "we already did" and she asked who we ordered through, and we told her that it was her. She seemed to think we were playing a game at first with her, but then a look came over her that basically said "oh...s*&@" and she said she would go put it in, no apology at all. Giving her a chance we figured she's busy and would let it slide. When the service kept falling further below the sub-par line, I spoke to the manager who com'd some desserts and a round of drinks which was nice, but didn't really rectify the situation.
So this past weekend, I joined a few friends again for dinner in the bar area booths (because honestly the food is good). The service was a little slow, but again it was a busy evening and we were in no rush, so it was fine. The food was amazing, but like I said in the first sentence, the only constant of this place is good middle of the road food. The service is all over the place, the staff looks like they are deer in headlights most of the time and there's just no charm left. I'll go back, but just not a destination high up on my list for dinners.
Manager Saved the day (night), Great dinner.
This experience was made unique simply by the fact our server took our order and totally forgot to put it in. We knew this b/c she came by and said "are you ready to order?" We were like....uh, we did...like 40 minutes ago.
After being ticked off for a couple of minutes, the table simmered down after the manager did a great job of stepping up and comping a round and desserts for the group.
The food then came shortly after. I had the tuna burger, seared rare. It was very flavorful with a delicious coleslaw on top with a nice soft bun. Other orders included margharita pizza (very thin...tasty, but not too filling) steak, and chicken...everyone liked a lot.
Gotta give a shout out for the way the slip up was handled...everyone makes mistakes...and we will be returning!
Great food - terrific service - fabulous bar staff. Had the scallops benedict (a special for the day) - incredible! Prime rib sandwich was great. Do not miss the spaghetti squash with marinara as a side - nice change of pace. Lobster bisque is thick, rich and satisfying. I have visited 3 times and sat at the bar by choice. Bar staff is friendly and go out of their way to make your meal enjoyable. Don't miss Bricktops. Better than Manzetti's by a long shot!
Overpriced, Bad Service, Bad Food, Mickey & Minnie's family resides here.
I don't know why this location is cursed--no restaurant can make it here!
My mom, sister and I decided to give ol' bricktops a try, because we heard it was owned by the group that owns Houston's, which we love. Unfortunately, although the atmosphere was nice, the service was bad, the food was practically inedible, and we saw Ralph S., Mickey, and Minnie's cousins.
-half price bottles of wine on Monday
-pretty expensive (chicken tenders were $13, grilled chicken salad was $15, french dip was $16)
-bad service. we got an appetizer, they took away our plates and silverware, and never brought more. our waitress never came back to check on us, so after sitting with our entrees for 10 minutes, i finally got up and picked up 3 rolls of silverware myself. the waitress also never asked how our food was.
-bad food: a bbq chicken pizza should not be coated in sour cream, especially when this is not listed as an ingredient on the menu. a grilled chicken salad should have have more cilantro than lettuce. a Caesar salad should not have spoiled/bad dressing.
-and the real kicker---as we were sitting there trying to force down the food, i saw something moving out of the corner of my eye...then realized it was a relative of Mickey, running out of the kitchen...it ran out onto the patio when someone opened the door, then we saw a similar creature four other times.
It was surprising because they had a 97% rating.
We didn't complain, because the whole meal had been a comedy of errors, but we definitely will not be going back.
Great new Concept. This nrestaurant serves down home comfort food and they are very good at delivering superior meals. I have been ther at least 5 times. Each meal has been perfectly done accompanied with excellent service. Nice layed back atmosphere. Try the ribs or the roast beef sandwich or the seafood, its all great. Very reasonable price, so I rate this a great price value.
