Armis Salon & Day Spa

False Advertisement. I received a card that had an offer 30% off your first visit, 20% off second and 10% off your third. The day before my wedding I had my pedicure and nails done elsewhere but had an appointment to get my eyelash extensions done, I was told I could not use the coupon because I am not getting the full service. No where on the card does it say must use full services. The lady was rude. I did not have my pedicure done there as I wanted to have it with my daughter and they only have 1 station so we could not have it done at the same time. Lousy customer service!…

Always great service!. I started going to Armis thanks to her awesome coupons in the coupon clipper. Turns out it was a good idea. I have been to her several times for highlights and a cut and I've always walked out feeling that my hair looked great. She does the highlights exactly the way I ask her to do them (heavy and close to the scalp).

I plan to go back to Armis very soon!…

Not Impressed!. I decided to venture in to Armis Salon after the prices at several other salons I frequented kept going up and after reading all the excellent reviews here on City Search. Big mistake. The first warning sign should have been that my appointment was at 11:30am on a Saturday...and I was the only one there! At every salon I've ever been to there are always at least 3-7 stylists booked throughout the day. At Armis you could hear crickets. When I asked about the lack of hub-bub on a Saturday I was told by Armis, "Oh, our stylists don't work weekends". Um...ok.

I decided I would let that go and we moved on to doing my highlights. I was very clear in the fact I wanted a partial highlight. Not having had highlights for several years I wasn't really sure what to expect. However, after seeing my hair in the mirror I had a full head of highlights! Not what I asked for at all!

Then there was the haircut. Ouch! She cut my hair taking off a bit more than I wanted (I went in for a trim and clean up) but, I'm pretty relaxed about my hair, so I went along with it. Then she started to texturize (unevenly) and thin it out (not enough). After she was through she blow-dried it, styled it and rang me up.

It wasn't until later that day as I was getting ready for an event that I noticed that my hair was uneven. I'm talking at least 1/2 of an inch off on the right hand side (enough for my husband to notice)! That's not the worst part. I asked her to undercut my hair (as it has a habit of flipping out in the back). Instead, after she weed-whacked it in the back all it does is flip out. Plus, she missed several pieces of my hair in the back so it now looks as though I have a really odd mullet.

After waiting 8 hours for a call-back from Armis for a refund. She gave me the money back for the haircut. I really believe she should have given me a compete refund for both the highlights and haircut (as I will invariably need to get them both redone professionally), but c'est la vie.

I learned two very valuable lessons from this experience:

1.) Do not be swayed by this salons "first time customer" deals. The heartache is not worth it.

2.) I will never again complain about the prices at my old salon...which I had to make an appointment with for next week to fix the hack job done at Armis.…

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. What a great experience at Armis' Salon...Armis gives an absolute great cut. I went the 1st time for just a cut and was very pleased. The second time Armis did highlights and the cut..it's just great. Menopause has done a hormonal number on my hair and it's been thinning on the top :-(...Armis did a great job of listening to my concerns to help me come up w/a sassy, cut..and great color.
