Nice store with great products to keep your pet healthy. Just very disappointed in the mindset of the ownership. It's one thing to try and treat your pet homeopathically but to not fix your pet because you think it will stunt their growth or create health problems is just irresponsible and bogus. I hope this store is not deterring people from fixing their pets. An unimaginable amount of homeless pets are euthanized each year throughout the country because of over population. It's not right to scare people into thinking that fixing their pet is a mistake.
Terrible service. The owner doesnÃ¢Â?Â?t – Terrible service. The owner doesnâ??t know a thing about customer service. She is so unfriendly and generally gives me a sense she thinks she is doing me a favor by waiting on me. Today was the worst. I stood in line to purchase one item and when it was my turn to checkout I mentioned that I would like to speak to her on a topic concerning my dogs. She responded by pointing to an area on the other side of the cash register and said for me to wait there while she rang up the next person in line. Not a problem, Iâ??ve worked in retail and know all about keeping those lines moving. However, what I did not appreciate was the remark made as I walked to the area. The ownerâ??s comment implied that I was inconsiderate for not offering to move out of the way so the other customer could put all her stuff down. How is it my fault this customer decided against using a shopping cart? As it turns out the other customer had not finished shopping and wanted the ownerâ??s opinion about some issue she was having with her dog. The owner proceeded to show this customer products and assisted her as she continued to shop. Realizing they clearly didnâ??t want my business I set the grossly overpriced item down on a shelf and left.
In the past year, I have spent hundreds of dollars in this store. After the way I was treated today, no more. There are websites and other specialty pet stores in South Charlotte that would love to have my business.
Quality products and great service! – I have two dogs and have always been careful of what brand of food I purchase, espcially after many food recalls. I thought I was buying quality, "organic" food at the "big box stores" but certainly became better informed after speaking with Diana. Prices may be just a little higher than your average pet store when it comes to organic food, but I feel I am saving in vet bills in the future. It is well worth it!
On anther aspect of Pawtique is the grooming. I had agreed to take in a foster dog who was scared of his own shadow. Prior to picking him up from the rescue group, I made arrangements with Tammy, the groomer at Pawtique to bring this poor dog in and get a fresh start by being bathed and pampered. He was 4 years old and I would not have been surprised if he had never had a bath. I knew bathing him was not an easy task, especially with a golden mix. Tammy was so gentle, patient and accomodating. I could not have brought this dog anywhere else where he would be safe and well taken care of. We organized that I would bring him in first thing in the morning and as soon as he was finished, they would call me and I would run over and take him home. It all worked out so perfectly, that I brought him in one more time before he went to his adoptive family.
Pawtique is not your average pet store and may not be everyone's cup of tea but for me who has a passion and love for animals, they will continue to have my business and support!
worth a visit – what a great store! we have 4 dogs, ( all rescues). one has discoid lupus and another is in the healing process of acl surgery. our holistic vet recommends steve's frozen dog food for our girl with lupus. the other dogs all get wellness light core mixed with honest kitchen force. wellness is available elsewhere, but the steve's and the honest kitchen are only available at pawtique. of course our dogs are seriously spoiled and get sunnyside up eggs with each meal too. pawtique is definitely worth visiting if you are crazy for your pets!
Fabulous Holistic Resource for Ballantyne-Area Pets! – I am so excited that I found Pawtique, and that it's right around the corner! The first time I went in, I was a little flustered because I didn't recognize any of the dog food brands. We have been without a dog for 7 years, and back in the day I thought I was doing great by feeding Eukanuba. But when I started researching dog foods online, what an eye-opener! I went back to Pawtique with a printout of the top-rated wet and dry large breed puppy foods recommended by some of the internet ratings sites, and was pleased to see that Pawtique had many of the top-rated brands. What's more, the staff is so knowledgable and genuinely concerned about my pets, and shared a wealth of information about different foods without pushing me one way or the other. They also recommended vets (haven't checked them out yet) and a trainer that we absolutely love. Our little rottie puppies are lucky we found Pawtique!
I've been reading through some of the negative reviews others have posted, and just wanted to add this: If you are happy with the products and services you can get for your pets at big box chain stores like Petsmart, Petco, and Walmart, then Pawtique is probably not for you. Pawtique is a holistic pet store catering to those pet owners who are looking for premium pet foods and who are looking for a different way to care for their animals. Anyone who knows anything about economies of scale would not expect prices at a small, independently-owned boutique store to be comparable to prices at a place like Walmart. Pawtique doesn't even carry things like crates, pet gates, etc. I get those things at Petsmart. I shop at Pawtique for grain-free holistic dog foods and treats that I can't get a the big box stores. As a small business owner myself, I enjoy supporting other small businesses and I'm willing to pay more at Pawtique because I value the products, service, and knowledge I can get there.
Just because a product or service offered by a business is not something you personally value does not mean the business is rude or has a bad attitude. Maybe I think the prices you pay to get your hair done are outrageous because that's not a high priority with me, but the fact that your hair stylist charges more than I want to pay does not automatically make her rude. If I say something offensive to her about her prices, like "are you INSANE? I can get my hair cut for $10 at SuperCuts," how would you expect the hair stylist to respond to me? If she tries to explain the difference between her experience and services and what I can get at SuperCuts, does that mean she's rude?
Looking out for me – This store really looks out for you. I was buying a raw food there that they recently discontinued. I was disappointed at first because it was a fantastic price! Turns out while the ingredients were listed, some customers found charcoal and plastic in it. I didn't find anything wrong with mine, but I never thought to ask what kind of beef--muscle meat (doubt it with the price)--tongue? How much organ meat? A dog can get too much! How much phosphorus? I wouldn't have thought to ask these things, but Diana knows her stuff and I look to her to find out for me. Thank you Pawtique! It's true--you get what you pay for!
#1 Pet Store in Charlotte – LOVE LOVE LOVE this store. If you ever go in and talk to Diana you will never go to another. Her knowledge of anything concerning our pets overwhelms me. I don't know why anyone would say they did not like it there. The staff is always ready to help and sometimes I might have to wait my turn with Diana but that is okay. I have an older dog and thanks to Diana he is going strong and in good health. She always lets me make the decision and if she disagrees with me she will tell me so and I appreciate that as that is why I am in there in the first place. Her concern for our pets is very genuine.
Go in and meet her you will not be disappointed.
I would recommend Wal-mart before this 'tique' – I was very disappointed in the attitude of the staff.

Would not go back to dog salon – Dropped our dog off at 9. Was told he would be ready at 2. Came back at 2 and they had not even started with him. Asked us to give them 30 minutes so they could cut him. We hung around the area for another hour before he was ready. He came out looking like a sheared sheep - used a razor all over. Cost $65. Came home and realized they totally forgot to cut him underneath, didn't cut his nails or groom inside his ears so we did that ourselves. Bought some canned dog food to spice up his regular dog food diet and noticed the cans expired the next week so if you buy any dry or canned food there, be sure to check the dates. Do not plan to go back for grooming or food.
