Be your own judge. Food is amazing. Great place to meet up with friends and enjoy GREAT food and fine drink. My first stop is Nolen , my home away from home.

Unfortunate Experience. Having been to Ilios Noche with my boyfriend on numerous occasions, we expected Nolen to also be good (same group). That was a terrible assumption, and our special night out to dinner ended horribly with this restaurant. First of all, it is incredibly loud. I do not care to yell over my food in an effort to carry on a conversation. But that was hardly the greatest issue. The food was the worst I have had in Charlotte. A seafood risotto was fishy and gritty, and my duck was drenched in a sauce that in no way complemented the dish (in fact, it was so overpowering and there was so much of it, that I couldn't even eat the entree). I was hoping that dessert would prove to be better, but unfortunately, wrong again. I had a raspberry and dark chocolate dessert in which the dark chocolate was so bitter, that it left an awful taste in my mouth (and I normally love dark chocolate). My boyfriend had an apple cobbler of sorts that had maybe a slice of apple and the rest was a giant pile of raisins. It was hardly what we expected. The service was slow, but not terrible. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Maybe things just weren't running in top shape yet, as we went a couple weeks after the restaurant first opened, but I do not have enough confidence in that statement to return and try it again.
