Honest, reliable, friendly

I created a City Search account just now for the express purpose of singing this company's praise. If you don't already have a mechanic you trust, head to Compton's today and get one. These guys are IT.

All the nice things said in the other reviews are true, but I'll repeat some of it anyway. Todd and Jeff and the others at Comptons will tell you the truth, even when it means they make less money. They treat us like old friends. They're friendly on the phone, friendly in person, helpful, just all-around the best experience you could ask for.

They understand things like the fact that our old beat-up pick-up doesn't need top-notch parts, and they look for cheap ways to keep it running and safe. But at the same time, they know that our daily driver that hauls our kids around can benefit from higher quality parts. In short, they pay attention to actual needs and come up with solutions that work for us. They're smart, honest, and provide the best customer care in the business.

Oh, and the free baked goods are worth a trip by themselves. :)

Great Automotive Repair at Compton's!

I moved to Charlotte a couple of years ago and put off bringing my car into a shop until I could find a good mechanic. During my search I found so many good reviews about Compton it couldn't be wrong. They were prompt, cared about my schedule, fit me in, and were nice and friendly. This is a family run business that cares about their customers. Fair and honest quotes, quick repair, and I won't go anywhere else again. Thank goodness!

Outstanding. We love Compton's.

These guys are defying the stereotypes for auto mechanics. They are honest (often telling me when something cheaper will fix my problem, or even that I don't have a problem at all), reliable (time quotes tend to be pretty accurate, and they've never messed something up), reasonably priced, great service (they go above and beyond--offering rides, answering phones with a pleasant tone, being efficient and friendly), and to top it off they have a bright, clean, comfortable waiting room with lots of conveniences often including free coffee and cookies. These guys are the honest mechanics you've been looking for.

• Pros: Honest, reliable, reasonable prices, great service... etc.!
• Cons: None.

Good People

I had major repairs done at Compton's recently, transmission and turbo repair. They gave me multiple options all along the way and the price quotes were accurate. Auto repair can be a painful thing, it is nice to deal with people who really care.

Fresh Cookies in the lobby are fantastic.

I Love This Place

I moved to Charlotte 4 years ago and been trying to find an independent auto repair shop to take my car with no luck. I've been taking it to the Toyota dealership with an average cost of over $500 each visit and questionable service. I finally found Compton's about 9 months ago and cannot tell you how happy I am. Along with excellent service they are located close to the airport and will take you to work or the airport when you drop off your car. So convenience is another attribute. It took me a long time to find them and I want them to stay....try them out...you will not be disappointed. Please note they are no longer on Sirus Land but Byrum Road.

• Pros: Affordable, Honest, Excellent Service
• Cons: Fresh Baked Cookies on Monday
