Tips for Eastside Community Church

August 08, 2012

I've been to some great churches around the United States and elsewhere in the world, but I can honestly say I've never been a part of movement of God quite like what is happening at Eastside now. There is a sense of expectation at every service as we wait to experience what God has for us next. It's a place where I'm encouraged to pursue God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love my neighbor. Let me encourage you: if you are searching for a place to worship God, or if you're still searching for answers about God, Eastside is a place where you'll have the opportunity to meet with the Creator.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. I have attended this church for about 8 months and have made every attempt to become a contributing member to no avail. The pastor seems to be totally disconnected from the membership, unless you happen to be one of his golf/hunting buddies and/or contribute unrealistic amounts of time and or/money to further his personal agenda, he has little time for you or your spiritual needs.

This Pastor has completely gotten rid of a mature god fearing staff and installed a staff of 20/25 year olds, all of which are being paid to do their assigned duties.?????. I have been to considerably larger churches that do not have this large of a paid staff…And they seem to receive a paid family vacation almost monthly to the Mountains or the Coast, calling them “Staff retreats”. All other members are charged handsomely for all events, retreats, trips, breakfasts, small groups, etc, etc etc…

Money management at this church seems to be none existent. The Pastor is contantly preaching money to the point of demanding it and telling the membership that he judges their spiritual walk by monitoring their individual giving habits.

This church furnishs a very vague financial report and one wonders how much this young “Staff” is being paid and what they are being paid for and how these “Staff Retreats” are being funded. The Pastor has said he answers to a board of trustees, however this seems to be a non-existant board. When he is questioned about financial matters he gets very defensive and says it is our job to bring our tithes and offering to him and his job to keep them. As far as I know the membership has never be asked for their opinion as to church expenditures. This man simply refuses to give a detailed accounting for funds received by the church.

We moved here 8/9 months ago and have tried to become a part of this church. But the infrastructure has become more and more suspect as the weeks have gone by. If it is your desire to become a sheep and follow a very suspect Shepard, then this may be the church for you. If you love the Lord and wish to honor and worship him, I suggest you find one of the more reputable churchs in the area. (The only positive comments found on this church are by one of those young “Staff members”.)

Not Impressed. I used to go to this church and it used to be a nice and warm place to be where you felt welcomed. When the new pastor arrived i decided to give him a chance. But after trampling over all the members and removing most of the church staff and replacing them; my family and i decided to move on to a church where we felt wanted and not just a number. My advice to you is to not even waste your time here and to find a church that actually cares about you.

P.S: The two positive reviews are written by two members of the staff (Not reliable).

False Pastors. We were members of this so called church. First, the previous pastor used the money which was given to make the church better was used to pad someone elses pocket as a construction expense. It was $87,000. Then the "Home Church," called this pastor back and brought in a new crew. They brought in a Pastor who gave the false sense that he cared. He brought in a person, who was supposed to keep track of the books.

After several months the pastor made claims to do ministeries which was to help the lost. To this date, not one has taken place. There was a claim of a robbery where the tithe was taken, but this also is not true, but money was taken by the admistration to personally pay for their expenses.

As of this date, people have been let go from the adminstration, to include the accountant, and others who made a difference. The pastor will not get involved with you, unless you tithe a substancial financial amount to pad his and his families lifestyle. He moved from a rented unit to another, due to the fact that he could not pay his bills, and ended up breaking his lease.

When asked for any spiritual help, this pastor is never present. He is only looking out for hiumself and what you can do for him. We left due to this issue, and there was no call or follow up as to why members were leaving.

Thank the Lord for directing me, and letting me see the true pastor of this organization. Since leaving, our life has become more spiritually fulfilled.

I advise others to look at the promises made and actually what is being done for the kingdom of God. You will probably move as we did.

Great Church, The Place To Be. This is a great church in the Charlotte Area. You will be greeted and welcomed as family from the start. They dont make it awkward to be a new guest, and allow you to check it out on your own, and are available for any and all questions. The Worship is engaging and powerful and always paired with Biblical Teaching from a dynamic team. All ages feel comfortable worshipping at Eastside. They also have a kickin' Children's Worship Experience with Area Kids where your children will be loved and cared for and taught the true love of God. They strive to be a church that is for a REAL GOD, REAL LIFE, and REAL PEOPLE.

This church doesn't care about your problems or your life. My ex-husband abused me verbally, and the whole congregation knew about it, and not only did the pastor leave me twisting in the wind, he and the youth pastor's wife went to court and lied to have my children taken away and given to my abuser. For heaven's sake, stay away if you have marital problems.
