Better places to go than here..
Went here for restaurant week, Jan, 2012. The bowl of chowder was more like a 1/2 cup. Was very good, but small portion. The shrimp & grits entree was also small portion. 4 shrimp a single scoop of grits. I thought that when I get home, I would have to make a sandwich. The desert was rich chocolate cake, and was very good in taste and portion. But overall experiance, this is the second worse place for restaurant week that I have ever attended.

My crummy Valentine! Huge waste of money.
It was Valentine's Day so I took my husband of 38 yrs out to lunch. Another couple joined us. After reading reviews online, I chose to try McCormick & Schmick at Southpark. Having made a reservation with "Don" less than an hour before, we were surprised to hear (from Don) that we didn't HAVE a reservation when we arrived. He finally seated us and told us we were "lucky to get the booth"...which is what we had requested by phone. This even though there were few other diners in the place at 1 p.m. Okay, so we ordered after waiting a good 15 minutes for the opportunity; we should have left then. We were way too polite for our own good. We had the impression that the waitress and waiter were undecided about who was serving us. Our friends each ordered the almond trout and I ordered parmesan coated yellow fin with caper sauce. When our food finally arrived, 20 minutes later, we 3 were all served the almond trout. Not a caper in sight. I kept quiet, not wanting to spoil everyone's experience on LOVE DAY. All of the fish was drowned under tasteless butter so that the sparse crusting was mushy and flavorless. My husband who ordered the fish stew never got a spoon with which to eat it. He ordered the chocolate trio dessert to share. The cake was fabulous, the 2nd dessert so-so but the "mouse" was like dipping into a can of grocery store icing. No one could eat it. Our friend's serving of upside down apple pie was wonderful. Good thing we liked two of the desserts since the meal cost us over $75 and I'm sure our friends' bill was about the same. Oh, and we had an oyster apetizer which was totally unremarkable and bland & very expensive. They charge over $2 PER OYSTER! The service was indifferent to rude and, really, I've had much better food at Red Lobster for half the price. Even Captain's Galley puts this place in the shade! I was embarassed that I had chosen the place and felt that we had dropped $150+ for a rum & coffee and 2 desserts. Couldn't wait to get out of there and would NEVER suggest that anyone go there, not even just for dessert. Skip it. I don't understand how anyone could rate this place favorably. I didn't ask my husband if he tipped; couldn't bring myself to talk about it and I hope our friends will forgive me. I guess I owe them a decent meal, thanks to the folks at M&S.
