Fraud. I went to Aabies a little over a month ago because I was hearing it advertised on the radio when I would drive to the Charlotte area. Im not from these parts but I was wanting to get my hair braided badly and I thought I would give this place a try. I went home to look them up on the internet and see if they were running any specials. I found a coupon on the website that advertised a $20 dollar gas card if you are from out of town and all you have to do is show them your coupon and ID. When I arrived there I gave the lady my coupon and she said ok and asked me what kind of hair style I wanted and what kind of hair. After I made my selection she set me down in a chair. Another woman came to help braid my hair and was trying to talk me into getting the hairstyle that cost $200 dollars and that wasn't including the hair. With the hair it would have been almost $300 hundred dollars and told her no think you I want to stick with my selection that I've made. That was a mistake, because I didn't get the other braids she wanted me to, they did a very poor job on my head. When they were finally done and I asked her about my coupon she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. And I asked her if she remembered me giving her the coupon and she said yes, so I was like ok it was for a $20 dollar gas card. Then she said she didn't understand, and that the manager had already left. So I asked her how come she didn't give it to the manager when she was there and she told me that she didn't know what I was talking about. I just went ahead and left because I wasn't going to spend another minute in that place arguing with a woman that acts as if she doesnt understand what I am saying. Then after I drove 2 hours to get back home, a braid came out of my hair. The next day another braid came out. 4 braids ended up coming out of my hair, and I have braids that are like braided into each other, braids sliding out but hanging on by a strand of hair. My hair looks like a mess and I will never go back there again. They were not professional, they were playing around and having customer wait while they disappear on them for like 30 minutes. The customer couldn't go anywhere because they already started working on their hair. I finally moved close to Charlotte and need to get my braided by professionals and I'm afaird to try another new place because of what happened. But I know I will NOT be going back to that HELL HOLE known as Aabies.

AABIES HAIR BRAIDING. I GOT MY HAIR DONE 3 WEEKS AGO MARCH 23 ,2012 ,WELL WITHIN 2 WEEKS MY HAIR STARTED KNOTTING UP LIKE DREADS,AND EVERYTIME I CALLED THEY WERE GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND .I JUST WALKED I ONE DAY AND THEY ADVISED ME TO COME BACK AND WHEN I WENT BACK EVEYONE WAS LOOKING CRAZY THEY STATED THAT I NEEDED TO CALL AABIES AND SHE ANSWERED NBUT WHEN I TOLD HER THE PROBLEM SHE DIDNT ANSWER ANYMORE.THEY DIDNT CARE THEY TIED KNOTS IN MY HAIR AND ALOT OF MY HAIR CCAME OUT AND I SAW AABIE.SHE TRIED TO HIDE HER FACE,THE PART THAT GOT ME WAS THAT SHE DIDNT EVEN TRY AND TALK TO ME ,AND THATS NOT EVEN RIGHT.SHE STATED THAT IT WAS THE COMPANY THAT SOLD HER THE HAIR.I PAID 225 AND NO SEEM TO CARE THAT NOT ONLY DID I WATSE MY MONEY BUT I HAD HAIR THAT WAS KNOTTED ALL UP AND TANGLED UP TOGETHER.SHE IS MONEY HUNGRY AND DINT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS ONLY IF U PAYING HER FOR SERVICE ,BUT AFTER U GIVE HER YOUR BUSINESS YOU ON YOUR OWN IF THERE IS A PROBLEM.NEVER EVER WILL I GO TO AABIES EVER AGAIN!!!!!!

Aabies is the WORST place on earth..... I went to this place back in July to get my braids done... a couple days later a few of my braids started slipping out. This place is full of money hungry buzzards. False advertising ain't even the word! They lie about prices...when you get in the chair they up the price on you. The are VERY dirty and LOUD. The environment is not pleasing or comfortable in no way shape or form. When you walk in everybody stares at you like and then they hound you. I walked in Friday, October 14th to get my braids taken out...I brought my daughter with me and her hair was out in two ponytails...this one lady hounded me to do her hair...I'm like NO I do not want my daughter's hair done... leave me alone?! Mind you, they all have terrible attitudes! The heifer that took out my braids...pulled and thinned my hair out bad. She started out by herself then two other girls started helping and they were pulling and jerking my head so bad. I finished getting my braids taken out after 2 1/2 hours and then the heifer that finished it didn't even want to comb my hair but now I'm glad I didn't let her! I noticed when I went to the bathroom...my hair was uneven on one side! I flipped out...Of course when I said something they got loud like a bunch of heineas! I will NEVER go back there and I suggest if you are thinking about going DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Have gone to Abbies at different times in the last 7 years that I have been here. Ok for the most part but shady when it comes to prices.

well this last time was my last straw! I got my hair braided on Monday, by the following Monday, about 4 braids came out through the week and about 5 were slipping. I called on Monday, yes it was July 4th but they were open. I told them my situation and they said come in at that time. this was around 6 p.m. when I got there, there were two women getting their hair braided. I stated again my problem and was asked to come back the next day. I said I just called and you told me to come in. they said there was no one there. everyone went home and could I come back tomorrow. Even though I was very frustrated and getting angry I asked if they could at least put the ONE braid back in because it was in the front at the top and noticable. again they asked if I could come back tomorrow. i was so angry I just left. no customer service, false advertising as there are suppose to be several braiders on duty from 7 am to Midnight! this will be my last time getting my hair braided at Abbies!

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I HAVE BALD SPOTS NOW.... The worst experience I have ever had! Not only are they the least professional business on earth but they don't care about your hair either. I would have given them no stars but that's not an option on here.

I decided to get kinky twist b/c I had just had a baby and wanted the freedom of not having to do my hair. Well a hair style from Aabies will leave you bald so you don't have to worry about doing hair for a long time. When I got there, I told them what style I wanted. They try to talk you into getting the most expensive style and try to jack up the price in one way or another. Then the stylist was pissed that I wanted my hair done for the price they quoted after she seen that I actually had hair. My hair is about shoulder's length naturally. I guess they are used to working on shorter hair mostly.

Anywho, how things work is they have two people start on you. The one in the front is the better stylist and the one in the back is an average braider... The goal is to have just the front looking good to cover up the ugly braids in the back. Later on they add in finisher people to finish the braid off by twisting and binding them at the end. At any given time, you can have like 5 people working in your head at once, pulling it 5 different ways. The biggest problem I had was when the front stylist kept pulling too hard and PULLED A WHOLE BRAID OUT BY THE ROOT!!! OUCH!!! These were medium length twist/braids so it was a good chunk of hair. She tried to cover it up with her hand and said that it was only baby hair...Baby hair by butt, I don't even have any "baby hair" in the top front of my head. Anywho, so I was highly pissed off about that. If she had just started, I would have just walked out but since they work from the side up to the center of your head, she was almost finished with the front.

When they finished, they didn't want to honor my 20% off coupon. They said that I was suppose to let them know I had the coupon before they quoted me the price. I'm sure they would have quoted me a different price to basically cancel out the discount of the coupon.

Overall, I looked at the reviews on here before I went, hoping that just maybe my experience would be better. NOPE, it may have been worst b/c like a few weeks after having the braids, by hair started detaching itself from the roots around my edges due to the braids being too tight. Eventually a few of the braids just fell out in the front. Leaving me with like 4 bald spots. I'm afraid of taking the braids out b/c I don't know what (if any left) my hair will look like or what I can do to it to cover up the bald spots. I've gotten braids a few times before but never had an experience like this. NEVER AGAIN will I go to AABIES!!!! Lets pray my hair grows back quickly...

Don't believe the hype!!!!. Aabies is the most unprofessional salon I have ever been the workers were very rude they never talked to you they only talked to eachother unless you were about to walk out and the entire place was dirty needless to say May 15 2011 was by far the WORST of the worst experiences I have had in all of my 35 years of life! My cousin and I drove two hours because of the 100$, very misleading advertisment, micro that was so not true. I mean since when does micro mean the size of my pinky finger in order to get the real micro braids they start at 160, oh and thats not with human hair thats another 100 bucks. They also try to charge you up front, don't ever pay for a service that you have not received. They also say they take debit and credit cards again not true and from what I've read their machine has been broken since 2007, and they refuse to give you a reciept. After all of that I still went on to get my hair braided because of a very important interview tomorrow. The lady started braiding my hair at 11 am and I asked her about how long would it take she said no more than five hours ok thats not so bad. Well again that was also not true, after braiding my hair for about two she just walked out without saying anything to me and never came back. Now after waiting about 45 minutes another lady came over to start on my hair which was not cool either because she left her client waiting. Between the many bathroom breaks, eating, talking, braiding other clients hair, phone conversations and going outside to buy clothes out of a ladys trunk its now 8:40 pm and I'm still sitting in my chair. Remember the client that was waiting while they went back and forth between the two of us well she was a minor getting kinky twist she didnt say anything to the lady that was doing her hair, but when her mother came to salon she asked why was her daughters hair not finished because she had been there since 1 pm well the lady would not responed to the mother instead they all begin to speak in french and the mother told them in english "Don't take me for a fool I am African just like you and I too speak french I am going to have this place shut down because none of you have a license." they all had the dumbest look on their faces. Three women started on her daughters hair. Me on the other hand I didn't get done until 10:30 pm. The salon was very dirty not a one of them cleaned up after a client was don, they didnt clean their stations, combs or their hands they just went on to do the next joker. So if for some reason you are suckered into this shop and your hair falls out or you get some kind of fungus remember you are going to have to take it old school and try to beat that azz (it would be 15 to 1) because you wont be able to sue they don't have a license. Let it be known go there at your own risk

AWFUL!. I went to get my hair braid. bout 3 mo. ago n I have been to a couple braid spots in the Q.C. n this by far is the worst. 1st off I call to make an appt. and they quote a price that chngd 2 x's once I got there. Also when I tried to hold a convers. with 1 lady nother lady came over and got in the convo. like there was sum confrontation going on, when the problem was simply the fact that they cant speak a lick of CLEAR english! uuuhhh...so I give them a chance and get sum kinky twists. The lady that started braiding my hair did a really good job besides the fact that bout yanked my hair from the root! The second lady wasn't as good but she wasn't so hard on my scalp. So basically I have 1 side lookn perfect n 1 side lookn janky. After I noticed the 2 sides looked different n informed them attitu. startd to flare. Long story short I wasnt pleased AT ALL with the atmosphere or the hair style. May I add they tried to get n attitude w/ the client nxt to me b/c she wasnt plesd either. Joke!

SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT. LET ME START BY SAYING I HAVE NEVER MET A BUNCH OF NON PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE IN MY LIFE, FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT I WENT IN TO GET MICROS AND THE FRONT WAS LOOKING GOOD BUT WHEN I WENT TO THE MIRROR JUST TO DOUBLE CHECK HOW THE BACK WAS LOOKING AND LONG BEHOLD I HAD BIG BOX BRAIDS IN THE BACK WHEN I CONFRONTED THE LADY THE BIOATCH HAD THE NERVE TO SAY YOU WONT EVEN SEE IT JUST WEAR YOU HAIR UP AT THAT PARTICULAR MOMENT I SAW NOTHING BUT BLACKNESS AND MY FIST GOING THRU HER FACE. SO I TOLD HER TO CALL AABIE BECAUSE EITHER SHE TAKES THOSE BRAIDS OUT OR SHE WILL NOT GET PAID THEY THREATING TO CALL COPS AND I WAS WATING ON THEM TO COME NO HUMAN CAN TELL ME THAT WAS RIGHT!!!!!! AT THE END OF THE DAY THEY DID NOT GET PAID AND I LEFT THE STORE IN A MESS!!!! IT'S A SHAME THAT THESE AFRICAN COME OVER HERE TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE FOR A SERVICE THAT SOME ARE GOOD AT AND TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE. i SEE SO MANY PEOPLE BALD FROM DEALING WITH AABIES, DO NOT GO TO AABIES

Dont make the same mistake I did. Dont do it I went there to get a sew in. my co-worker told me they were good, The lady told me to pick out my hair, I did. she sewed it in the way she wanted. I asked her if she could cut and style it. She told me that i have to go to a Solan to get that done they cant cut WTF.

I thought they were a solan. I went to work that next day and every one at my job was saying that their kids could have do that It looked horrible. i paid 130.00 for the sew in. I went back the next day and she said that she could fix it, it looks just at bad to tell you the truth i could have sewn some hair in my head i am still very upset.. They should tell you before they take your money that they are not hair stylest, she cant cut nor can she style. So can she charge130.00 anyway she did my hair over and it still looks bad. now I have to pay a real stylest another 130.00

bottom line is do not go to Aabies.
