AVOID GETTING RIPPED OFF! We had coupons with no restrictions. However, the palce would not accept them on Cinco De Mayo because it was a "holiday". No one seemed to care that the coupons did not mention any "holiday" restrictions. Even worse, Cinco De Mayo is NOT a federal holiday. We tried to be fair and agreed to stay despite the rude treatment over the coupons. Unfortunately, the restaurant 1) had a limited menu and 2) was NOT serving margaritas. Who wants to pay a lot of money for Mexican food when the service is worse than Taco Bell? Charlotte has much better options for good Mexican food.
No, Thanks!. Overall the food is not great. The plates came out somewhat cold. In addition, we received the bill after we finished eating and the total bill was $19 and some change. We gave the server our debit card and the bill/credit card comes back to the table at $24 and some change! When questioned, they said the soft drinks were not on the first one. My question is.... whose fault is that? Not good business practice.
crap sauce!. the waitresses kept giving me the wrong drink and she wouldnt let me talk in english.. (actually that was my spanish teacher but its all the same....) so i got the burritos and the burritos were literally DROWNING in crap sauce! i couldnt eat the burritos with my hands like a normal person (which im not but still) and it was impossible to eat them with a fork and they were so soggy and the sauce tasted like crap and was unidentifyable! i will never return....
BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN CHARLOTTE!!!!. i moved back from San Diego a few years ago and the west coast really spoiled me with authentic mexican food.....i have possibly ate at every mexican restuarant in CLT and I PROMISE Maria Bonita is the best hands down!! The mole sauce is over the top, the cheese dip extreme has prawns in it and the guacamole dip is so rich and creamy!! This place is CLT best kept secret. Just head down Colony Rd (of all places) to the best mexican joint in town!!!
great mexican food!!!!. We have tried many mexican restaurants around town and maria bonita is one of our favorites, is really convenient too since is very close to where we live so we find ourselves eating there quite regularly. The food is of great quality and the margaritas are the best, and the staff is very attentive, overall just a good experience and we are never disappointed..
Best I've ever had. We initially viewed this as only a pleasant nearby place for Mexican food, but every time we've eaten there, the experience has been better. We now realize that they offer authentic flavors that most places don't. I love their mole enchiladas, and today I tried the cochinita pibil, which was fabulous - slow-cooked pork with marvelous achiote and other flavorings, with fried plaintains, cactus salad, black beans & rice. Portions are very generous and prices modest. Even the salsa is better than most.
a tasty casual place.
We chose to eat here because the location was good for us and they had a nice little outdoor eating area.
The food was pretty good. I've had better Mexican food and I've had worse.
I would say the server was adequately friendly...just doing his job.
I had the taco salad and hubby had the fajitas. Both were fine. Nothing to scream about and I wish the salad had more fixings. But, I would eat here again just to enjoy sitting out in the nice weather. We also tried the brie and walnut quesadilla which was tasty. It's an appetizer, but we had it for dessert since it's rather sweet. During another visit we tried the steak fajitas aand steak "Maria Bonita" specialty and I will say that steaks were chewy. But the chicken and shrimp are just fine.
I would dine here again.
