Love it!.
Sammy's is a great family/neighborhood restaurant. Never served me a plate I didn't like. Large portions....take it too lunch the next day. A bit loud for some, crowded for others but as for me and my family one of our favorite restaurants on the Westside.
Sammy's does have a bar so when bringing family on the weekends expect a bar-crowd after 8pm.
Great Food Friendly Service. Sammy's Pub is located in downtown Belmont across the street from Stowe Park. The food is great it is always more than you can eat. The staff has always been nice to my family, and as a mother I strongly recommend this place to other family's. They have a great kids menu and my son loves the corndogs. One of the best beer selections I have ever seen.
Don't bother, esp. if you have kids!. I have always heard very good things about Sammy's. However, after an incident last night, I will never patronize this establishment. There was a local event going on called "Belmont Alive," and my friend's 4YO daughter needed a bathroom to the point where she was crying. Sammy's flat-out REFUSED to allow my friend to bring her daughter in to use their bathroom; the poor child ended up having an accident right outside their door as a result. To add to the insult, Sammy's has not only NOT apologized to this mother and child, but they keep deleting the comments posted on their Facebook page from irate parents. They claim to be "...professionals with decades of experience..." yet are demonstrating that they are anything BUT professional. I recommend that you avoid this place at all costs, especially if you have small children. They aren't worth the trouble.
SAMMY'S: Bring ear plugs.
You would expect more from Sammy's. We have been to Sammy's a half dozen times and the only thing I can remember is I've never been in such a loud place. Menu is not bad, but actual food is too often disappointing. For fine dinning, Sammy's would have to be rated very low, but for a friendly bar, good to better than average, but overpriced for a bar.
Did I mention how loud it is.
OK food, but customer comes second. As one of the only places to go in Belmont, they do a great business. Nice casual atmosphere. Family friendly, kids always welcome. Most menu items are pretty good - some not so great. Order strictly from the menu - you'll be charged for any "special" request. Ask for a little extra blue cheese with your wings, or some extra jalepenos for your nachos, and your bill will arrive with extra charges for these "add-ons". They nickel and dime you to death.
