My new favorite place to buy wine!
by ncwineguy
If you live in Charlotte, and you haven't heard of this place then you've probably been under a rock or spending WAY too much time at the Bank (like I have). My friends have been telling me about this place for months, but this past weekend was my first time in.
It is honestly one of the coolest retail concepts I have ever seen. The design is second to none. It's very hip and modern. Basically, it's like the Apple Store for wine buyers. The prices are amazing too. When I first walked in I expected it to be expensive (based on the look and feel), but was ecstatic when I saw that almost all of the wines visible were under $25-$30. They also took me to the back room for more expensive bottles when I said that I needed something for my father's birthday. They have some total Cherries back there as well. I loved it.
I tasted wines of their tasting machines (you HAVE to see it to believe it) and ended up buying a baker's dozen -- 12 for me and 1 for my Dad.
I have nothing left to say other than you just have to see and experience this place to believe it. I'll be back soon.
- Pros: Prices, Selection, Service, "Cool" Factor
- Cons: That I had to eventually leave and go to dinner.

Without question, the best place to buy wine in Charlotte! This is exactly the type of store that Charlotte needs, and I'm so glad to find it in the new SouthPark shopping center. I'm a huge fan of drinking wine, but admitttedly don't know much about it and am always intimidated to walk into a wine store. That's all changed now. I've been in 3 times already and have already found some new favorites! The selection is fantastic and the prices are absolutely affordable. Great customer service ethic--I learn something every time I go in, the guys are so helpful. And I now impress my friends with my obscure selection of great, inexpensive wines. But above all else, its a really fun place to shop. The wine tasting machine is super fun, and the layout and store design create a unique experience. There's nothing else like it here. Looking forward to my next visit to taste, learn a little, and walk out with a few new bottles!
- Pros: great selection, affordability, amazing customer service
Great Wines. Great Concept. Great People.

What can I say? I saw the winestore. sign on the corner of Sharon and Colony when I was on my way to the Harris Teeter to pick up a couple of bottles for a dinner party. I thought I'd try something new. Next thing I knew I walked out with a case of wine! The concept is amazing, the customer service is top-notch, and allowing me to try before I buy on the tasting machine is exactly what a wine novice like me needed.
They have a lot of cool wines that I've never seen before, and the staff educated me on each grape, region, food pairing, etc... I'll definitely be back. If you're looking for a "different" type of retail experience, then you should check out winestore. 10 out of 10.
