Our family took my youngest son to Buca Di Beppo tonight to celebrate his 20th birthday. It was one of our best dining experiences ever! The staff was very personable, helpful, and responsive... even though it was a very busy weekend night. The food was more than we expected in both quantity and taste! My son told us it was a great birthday for him! His pals loved it, too. The Italian decor and old photos were really fun as well. A wonderful time for all!!!

The Worst Service I've Ever Experienced. The worst service I've ever experienced, and the food was bad too!

First, they changed our waiter, telling us he was going home, but he was there waiting other tables the entire time we were there.

We had to wait a long time for EVERYTHING ... for water, drinks, food. We had to ask for bread which other customers were served automatically. The waiters didn't check on us - it seemed we were being deliberately ignored. We were told we could add roasted garlic to our pizza, our pizza came with no garlic and we were told it was "diced very fine, we just couldn't see it." We couldn't taste it either. The fettucine alfredo we ordered was dry, cold, and completely tasteless. We had to order garlic powder, oregano, and crushed pepper flakes just to make our dishes edible. We had to wait a long time for our bill, paid in cash, and when they finally brought us our change, they had kept all the coins - 77 cents worth.

Should be called Puca di Beppo. Terrible service to begin with. People who sat down 15 minutes after us got served before us.

The appetizer was brushetta. Was awful. 4 pieces of bread for $11 and consisted of only chopped tomatoes and parsley.

There were three of us and we first ordered the size which would feed 2 to 3. It was chicken breasts and we were told there would only be 2 pieces. We ordered the larger portion and got 3 pieces for $29. One was half the size of the other two. Very salty. The alfredo noodles for three wasn't enough for 2 and tasted worse than a box mix. It was also cold.

We expressed our disappointment and were argued with and heard bad excuses. Our fault for not telling them the noodles were cold. They couldn't see themselves? We already waited a very long time to get what we did. No offer to remove the charge.

I went a letter and never received a response. I investigated and found they are owned by Planet Hollywood. Sent them a letter and also no response except to to me they were sending it on to the restaurant who had already ignored my letter and they still ignored it.

Over priced and bad food. I would NEVER return.

Yuck, yuck, yuck!. I promise you I used to love this restaurant. All it takes is a B rating and a horrible case of food poisoning to sour me on a restaurant FOR LIFE. Yesterday our group got treated to a chain smoking waiter (who smelled progressively worse each time he disappeared, so I can imagine where he was going when he should have been checking our empty glasses!) a ridiculously long wait in an empty restaurant for our food and soup that had my stomach in knots all night! I saw the B rating and figured "well, we're just getting soup and salad; how can they screw that up?" I'll never again ignore a B rating because they got it FOR A REASON! Buca has gone so far downhill I don't think it can recover. And for my part they've lost my business permanently. Maybe if I had some sort of recourse for my complaint I would have spared them this scathing review; but they don't even allow complaints on their website. Don't bother with this place; the food court at the mall serves better food than this!

Feed the family for a week. Love this place. It's for everyone who wants a little bit of everything for everyone. Their house wine is the best at a great price. I would reccomend this to any family.

A whole lot of nothing. The hostess told my boyfriend they would call us if any tables became available. They never called us. We went back 30 minutes before the time they told us and many tables were already empty.

We ordered the chicken carbonara and it looks nothing like the picture. It was just a big bowl of white noodles with a couple of peas and greasy chicken chunks mixed in (and greasy ham chunks if you kept those in- we didn't). It was very bland and what little flavor it did have was equivalent to a frozen dinner- except we could have gotten the frozen dinner for a tenth of the price.

The Italian sodas were 4 dollars and not half as good as regular soda.

We still managed to have a good time though, discussing how Buca Di Beppo makes their money- by selling a shit load of extremely cheap, whole grain lacking, enriched pasta as the majority and center piece of their entrées.

Olive Garden is much better.

Get cozy with friends and family and enjoy an Italian feast at this loved-by-locals restaurant.. In Short
Homesick for your mother's Italian cooking? Grab your appetite and head to this restaurant, where the friendly wait staff will serve up portions of Colosseum-esque proportions, like spaghetti and meatballs loaded with savory tomato sauce and lots of pungent garlic. Dishes center on Southern Italian immigrant fare, and are meant to be shared family-style with a large goblet of wine-to enhance the taste, of course. The ornate décor with walls covered in vintage photos evokes a warm homey feel that welcomes customers to dine among the other families and loyal customers. Buon Appetito!

good if you are hungry!. The food is pretty good for this place. I didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised. Portions are large, but also tasty. We have gone probably a half dozen times and except for two times the food was very good. Except for one time the service was good. It's a bit hokey and we laughed at the gaudy decor at first...but it has a 1950's charm about it.

Great for families. It is not the best food ever, although with a 2 year old it is a great place to go. There you can avoid the glares you would normally get at a finer dinning restaurant. If you do not like kids and would prefer to eat somewhere quiet, go somewhere else.

Are You Kidding???. Folks!! This is a chain restaurant. It is average at best. Yes, they give you big ol' portions of food. Obviously, that is all that matters to the local yokels here in Charlotte.

If this is the best Italian restaurant that the area has to offer, then Charlotte needs a LOT of help.

Or, Charlotteans just need to get a hog trough to eat out of.

I am sure there is better Italian fare than this in the Big C.
