Best food I have eaten in a long time!!.
I ate here last night and all I can say is "WOW!" It's sort of a low-key place and by it's appearance you would expect an average experience.
This was anything but Average!!! I had a rib eye special and my husband had a palm salad with blackened salmon. This was the BEST MEAL EITHER OF US HAS HAD IN AS LONG AS WE CAN REMEMBER.
The service was friendly and attentive, they have huge booths that are great for privacy!
They have great drink specials too!
We definitely will be going back to BF&B VERY SOON!!!!…
Too Bad, another one bites the dust.. We used to love BFB's Pimento & Cheese Hamburger among others. I took a friend there not long ago and we ordered nachos. They were not much more than chips w/lettuce sprinkled over them. About three weeks ago three of us went there for a burger. It was crowded, the table was sticky and so close to the table we could barely get in and I am not a big person. We left without ordering. I'm from Belmont and I hate to see good restaurants go downhill. There are so few. I copy what a friend just emailed me. "Hi,Dad,Tony and I went to BFB Friday night for dinner.Man has it gone down hill.We were there about a month ago.Dad and I both enjoyed the shrimp po-boys.Friday it came on a tough hamburger bun instead of a soft hoagie and with about half the shrimp. We should of taken your advice and gone to Jax.JP"…
Mediocrity at its best!.
Despite living in Belmont, the missus and I never visited this place before, mainly due to the uninspired menu. But some friends wanted to meet us up there recently, so we went for a visit.
First, the service is pretty bad. We waited several minutes to get served whilst the bartender ran back and forth like a chicken with her head cut off, yet apparently not doing much of anything. After we sat down in a booth, we waited yet again while several waitresses walked past, seemingly confused.
The food varies widely in quality. I had the spaghetti and meatballs special, and while there was a huge puddle of water at the bottom of the plate, I quite liked the sauce (it was meat + meatballs, so it was really filling). My GF, on the other hand, was disappointed. Her fried pickles arrived mostly cold, and tasted of old oil. Her sandwich was decent, but nothing to write home about, while her fries were also cold and tasting of old oil.
Normally, my GF and DEVOUR fried pickles, and at The Penguin or Sammy's they're gone in a couple minutes. That we left 3/4 of a greasy, rancid, cold pickles on the plate should tell you all you need to know.
Oh, and the drinks are EXPENSIVE! My GF ordered a G&T and I a PBR (because they didn't have the Longboard larger, even though it was on the beer card and prominently advertised on the walls). It was $12!…
Awesome!. I love to meet my friends here. Everything is always great and we have a fabulous time. It's a must if you get to Belmont!
Wonderful place to eat, especially at lunch.
This is a very good place to eat. the food is wonderful -- especially the meatloaf, which they have on Monday.
The manager is very nice and friendly, as are the servers.
Plus, they have sweet potato fries -- my favorite!!
At lunch to atmosphere is bright and cheerful -- not dark and dreary like some pubs.
Many families, even with a toddler, go in at lunch and even share an entree, as the portions are very generous.
Warm, down to earth, friendly atmosphere.…
