Best food I have eaten in a long time!! – I ate here last night and all I can say is "WOW!" It's sort of a low-key place and by it's appearance you would expect an average experience.
This was anything but Average!!! I had a rib eye special and my husband had a palm salad with blackened salmon. This was the BEST MEAL EITHER OF US HAS HAD IN AS LONG AS WE CAN REMEMBER.
The service was friendly and attentive, they have huge booths that are great for privacy!
They have great drink specials too!
We definitely will be going back to BF&B VERY SOON!!!!
Too Bad, another one bites the dust. – We used to love BFB's Pimento & Cheese Hamburger among others. I took a friend there not long ago and we ordered nachos. They were not much more than chips w/lettuce sprinkled over them. About three weeks ago three of us went there for a burger. It was crowded, the table was sticky and so close to the table we could barely get in and I am not a big person. We left without ordering. I'm from Belmont and I hate to see good restaurants go downhill. There are so few. I copy what a friend just emailed me. "Hi,Dad,Tony and I went to BFB Friday night for dinner.Man has it gone down hill.We were there about a month ago.Dad and I both enjoyed the shrimp po-boys.Friday it came on a tough hamburger bun instead of a soft hoagie and with about half the shrimp. We should of taken your advice and gone to Jax.JP"
Mediocrity at its best! – Despite living in Belmont, the missus and I never visited this place before, mainly due to the uninspired menu. But some friends wanted to meet us up there recently, so we went for a visit.
First, the service is pretty bad. We waited several minutes to get served whilst the bartender ran back and forth like a chicken with her head cut off, yet apparently not doing much of anything. After we sat down in a booth, we waited yet again while several waitresses walked past, seemingly confused.
The food varies widely in quality. I had the spaghetti and meatballs special, and while there was a huge puddle of water at the bottom of the plate, I quite liked the sauce (it was meat + meatballs, so it was really filling). My GF, on the other hand, was disappointed. Her fried pickles arrived mostly cold, and tasted of old oil. Her sandwich was decent, but nothing to write home about, while her fries were also cold and tasting of old oil.
Normally, my GF and DEVOUR fried pickles, and at The Penguin or Sammy's they're gone in a couple minutes. That we left 3/4 of a greasy, rancid, cold pickles on the plate should tell you all you need to know.
Oh, and the drinks are EXPENSIVE! My GF ordered a G&T and I a PBR (because they didn't have the Longboard larger, even though it was on the beer card and prominently advertised on the walls). It was $12!
Awesome! – I love to meet my friends here. Everything is always great and we have a fabulous time. It's a must if you get to Belmont!
Wonderful place to eat, especially at lunch – This is a very good place to eat. the food is wonderful -- especially the meatloaf, which they have on Monday.
The manager is very nice and friendly, as are the servers.
Plus, they have sweet potato fries -- my favorite!!
At lunch to atmosphere is bright and cheerful -- not dark and dreary like some pubs.
Many families, even with a toddler, go in at lunch and even share an entree, as the portions are very generous.
Warm, down to earth, friendly atmosphere.
Terrible, Terrible, Terrible – Have you ever been to a place that made you pay for mistakes made in the kitchen? This is the place. Our food was inedible. One item was not cooked, another one was so salty it couldn't be eaten, another item looked and smelled like mop water. We were told "It is not our policy". So we had to pay for their mistakes. Never again, no way no how. STAY AWAY FROM Belmont Food and Beverage.
The owner is not very business smart and his (girlfriend) manager is a total psycho. She stood at the end of the bar and screeched at the top of her lungs in language that is not to be used in ANY conversation.
BF&B LOCAL FAVORITE – Belmont Food & Beverage is a friendly, local bar with good food.
This is not "fine dinning" but a place to relax, have a drink and dinner.
The salads are very good; grilled chicken or smoked salmon salad are tops. Salads are large so take home half for next day's lunch.
Try the pizza; their different. And everyone loves the burgers; fresh, thick, and anything you want on 'em.
The homemade fries are the best in Charlotte. The fried fish sandwich is my favorite. Don't be afraid to ask for something not on the menu.
And great prices.
Beware: it's one smokey place.
Best Local Bar in Town – Being new to the area I needed to find a place to eat. I happened upon this place by a recommendation of a friend. The exterior of the building is not the friendliest looking place, but do not be shy to go in. The customers there are extremely friendly. The staff is just as friendly and extremely accommodating. You will always be greeted with a smile by both. The selection of drinks are excellent and the prices are very reasonable, the bartenders are also happy to recommend something if you are just not sure. The food is good, it?s not a five star restaurant but if you are looking to grab a bit to eat and have a few drinks and just be social, this is without a doubt the best place to go. They have entertainment on most weekends and are closed on Sundays (it?s also a catering service). They have a few TVs and you can watch anything you want. The owners are typically there so it operates pretty smoothly. You will find the crowd both young and ?seasoned? with plenty of conversation to join. I would personally recommend this location from my mother to my friends and anyone else looking to hang out.

nasty – bad service. smelt like and ashetray upon leaving. not a place for dinner, mostly fried food and sandwiches...but they aren't open for lunch-weird. a watering hole for locals i guess, but that is about it.
Great all around bar and restaurant. – You walk into a cozy atmospere right away. Seems to be alot of regulars at the bar telling stories, jokes and just having a good laugh. Large booths away from the bar area if seclusion is more your thing. The larger booths are more like private rooms. Very atentive waitress sat us and was curtious and knowledgable about the the menu. Great selection of beer and ain incredibly diverse menu for this area. Relitivly quick service, even though there menu slogan boldly states " not fast food just good food". Best burger I've had in a while and if there is anything on the menu that you want on your burger, Just ask It's as good as done. Had a great goat cheese an tomato appt. I'm not usally ony to do goat cheese but my date made me try it and now I'm hooked. She also commented that her Caesar with blackened salmon was the best she'd had. To full for dessert and enough in our togo boxes for another meal, we moved to the bar and had one last drink. Served by a cute and extremely friendly bartender and a very personable guy I think was the manager. All in all a great all around facility and I'll be back, on a regular basis.....
