First and last time.
My first visit to Aabies location was unprofessional. I was unsure about coming b/c I had heard rumors about service previously but since I heard on the radio there was a new location in Rock Hill I decided to try them out. I made an appointment for my daughter on 2/6 to come in on 2/7 b/c of the $20 off coupon I saw online. Well I received a call shortly after I made the appointment online telling me I could bring my daugher in that day (2/6) and that the coupon would be honored. I dropped my daughter off to get her hair done after 5pm and she was done at 1am.... this was fine b/c her hair looks nice and she loves it. However, when I went to pay the ladies working knew nothing about the $20 off coupon and tried to get me to pay the full amount. To top things off I found out later from my daughter they had her sign something without my premission stating she would pay the full amount.
To conclude this was my first and last time doing business with Aabies!!
False Advertisement... Gimmicks.....
DO NOT GO TO AABIES.. FULL OF BS!!!!
I went to Aabies on 4/5/2011 for Flat Twist with a Tuesday coupon from the website for 20% off any style under $100 and $20 off any style over $100. The style I wanted was $75 but after showing her the coupon for 20% off she did not want to honor my coupon. This stylish and all the other stylish who can't speak any English what so ever stated that it's only for Micros and they can only give me $5 off etc. I showed then the coupon and showed some of the other customers and they all agreed. These stylish didn't know how to calculate the 20% after calling the owner to verify the coupon advertisement. I think the owner should communicate with the stylish so that they can be more professionals. They are so damn rude and BITCHY!!!
With that being said she agreed to give the 20% but GUESS what???? Since my orginial style was 75 w/ 20% to total $60. She gave me a $60 so that she did not have to give me the discount. But it was all good. I got my hair done and it was ok but not exactly what I wanted. I will nt be going back to Aabies because I got like once a year or so but I everytime it does not fail that they are on some BS. I would rather go to another salon to get more professional service and get what I pay for. Aabies advertisements are FULL of BS/ False/ Misleading just to get you into the salon and GIMMICKS.
THE WORST and they do not use human hair for micros.
Do not go hair if you want real micros. We are new to Charlotte and I have heard the radio commercial for this place we decided to give it a try. I called and was told the micros are $100 including hair, just as the radio commercial stated. I dropped my little sister off to get micros done and went back to work. My little sister text me saying they are using micro pony hair and are charging $145....Because my signal is not that great at work I got her message after she had paid them and they already started. They were going to charge another $40 for humain hair ,WTF!
So, I pick my sister up and her micros look like braids. They are not even thin lke micros. I asked did she ask them for that size and she said that is the $145 size. For the next size down there was an extra $10 per size. The prices for the smaller you wanted them ranged up to $260.00. That is RIDICULOUS when you are not using human hair.
NEVER GO HERE and I am telling everyone I know do go here unless you want to be ripped off.
The Worst Experience Ever. I have been getting braids for over 20 years. I recently moved to CLT and visited this Salon. The prices the quoted me over the phone was doubled when I actually got to the salon. They were unfriendly and asked for $210 up front before I even sat down! Moreover, they told me the price included hair and the hair she pulled out for me was synthetic hair that costs 99c a pack! I walked out, never to return. I would never let them touch my hair Moreover, many of he braiders had no edges and i did not want that to happen to me!!!
THESE FEMALES HAVE NO SOUL. OK..i took my 6 year old to get her hair braided at this place, my daughter is in a wheel chair. I saw it advertised on tv that there was a student discount for students. When I got there i got stares from all the girls there. The lady who choose to do my daughters hair charged me an extra thirty bucks for her and I couldnt get the student discount. After she was all done she pulled me to the side and asked for an extra ten buck cause my child is disabled...wow....I cried when I got to my van with my little girl. She just wanted to look pretty like all little girls like to look....but @ what cost...never again will i step foot there!!! Daba...was her name
DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE BALD!!!. I recently went to Aabies to get a sew in and had the worse experience ever! Although they ask you what style or what you want done to your head, they will do what THEY WANT TO DO! I returned to the Aabies African braiding on 5430 N. Tryon Street, Ste 14, Charlotte NC 28213, because of the extreme pain from the sew in! First they were trying to say "just put some grease on it" but after I insisted they do something about it the lady (Mou) proceeded to fix the problem. Little did I know her solution was CUTTING THE TWO BRAIDS SHE HAD SEWED TOGETHER! This left both braids break off from my scalp, hense leaving the two areas BALD! They never appoligized and would not give me the information to contact Aabie, but instead gave me a very nasty attitude about the matter. The lady would not give me her name so I took a picture of her! One of the other braiders gave me the name Mou (which was probably made up) I would not recommend anyone to try Aabies!
best hair salon in town i love this place. i go here anytime and be willing to pay 100 dollars r more to get my braids done. so if dont know why so many people diss them. i think they are just hating
Never Again. As highly advertised as this place is i would have expected them to do a lot better. i drove an hour and a half to this place from Columbia, SC. i have never gotten my hair done in a shop before so i had no idea they priced their braids based on size. the pic i saw on the web site that advertised the 100 dollar braid was small. for me micros have always been one size for one price. When i first got there they were very receptive. they guided me to the back and let me pic out the color and everything. When she asked me what size i wanted i told her the one hundred dollar one and she pointed out this big dashaki, Janet Jackson poetic justice braid and i tried to leave. they began to argue about who would do my hair and for how much. One girl even said i refuse to do her hair for less than 160. they tried to convince me to get a cheaper hair style. one lady finally agreed to do my hair for the advertised price but bc she was doing it for so cheap she wanted to use leftover scraps not a new pack(hell no)...no one helped her and they were so rude to me i.e. dirty looks and talking about me in their native tongue(i took french i kno). it took her forever to finish...she did a DECENT job but i was so put off by the service i would never reccomend it or go back!!
RUN DON'T WALK. This place is terrible!!! They were so rude. I will never go there again. They overcharged me and then refused to give me a receipt, claiming that they don't give them. Their website claims that you can use a credit or debit carb but when my hair was finished they claimed the machine was broken. They continued to talk very loudly in my ear, apparently in French. When I asked a question pertaining to my hair they became upset and started talking to each other in a very negative tone. On top of all of that my hair is too tight. Don't attempt to go to this place if you are into hair care. One of the ladies actually stopped braiding my hair so that she could go to Walmart. They constantly talked on their cell phones and ate while braiding my hair. This place was a nightmare and needs to be shut down! It's not the cleanest place either. Avoid at ALL Cost. Very rude and dishonest people!!
Aabies African Hair Braiding and Weaving. I recently got my hair braided from Aabies on N. Tryon. The first location did not want to honor the radio special so I left. After I stopped in at the second location on N. Tryon I has treated VERY rudely. They did not want to honor the $120.00 special. They wanted to charge me $165.00 to braid my hair. My hair stops at the base of my neck. I was told my hair was TOO long for the special. They did not give me the color I picked out. I had to go with the color of my hair (black) and I did not have a choice of the size of the braids or the hair they used. After I tried to walk out of the store, they finally changed the hair to human hair. From then on out, the two braiders who did my hair did not talk to me and I sit in the chair from 4 hours in silences. I would not recommend Aabies on N. Tryon (both locations) to any one.
