Love this little store!. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this little bookstore. I love that you can turn in books for credit, that she has TONS of inventory and the prices are unbeatable. Even brand-spanking new paperbacks are usually $3.50! Half the cost of B&N or other big name stores. You can truly spend hours browsing in here. It's almost like a step back in time also. No bright lights or overdone artwork. No retail prices or over-the-top signage. Just a simple little nook for book lovers.

I work in Indian Trail so I love to drop by this store on my lunch break or after work. It's a little out of the way for people any farther away than Matthews, but it's worth the drive for those nearby!

The store owner is friendly and she brings her dog in. The dog is so incredibly well behaved and the children who visit love him!

I whole-heartedily support this small business and encourage others to do so as well. She really does have fantastic selection (if you're a series reader, it'll be more difficult to find a specific book...but if you go in just looking for good reads, there are so many choices it'll make your head spin) and even though she's not on a barcode system or similar, she knows her inventory. Just ask!

Love The Book Lady. Cozy little store packed with used books. Comfortable place to get lost in. I could spend hours brousing the shelves. I have a stock pile of old books that I never knew what to do with. Everytime I go, I bring a box of books and she will take most for a trade in and put the value on your account. I never can leave without a hand full of books every time.

It's not books-a-million, people! That's the point!. Great selection, liberal trade-in policy, awesome owner. There is a great religion section, and books are well-organized into categories. I don't see how anyone can expect the store owner to have her entire inventory memorized. No there's no computerized system, but it's a welcoming bookstore, and a delight to browse. Prices are low, and the children's section is large and in the back with a couch and stuffed animals.

These are the bookstores we should encourage with our $$.

Vive la Book Lady!

So much fun... for everyone!. I love the Book Lady, the store, and the "lady" herself! I've been going there for years and it is always a great experience. It's usually the highlight of our shopping day. I was shocked when I read that others didn't have a good experience. She's always been friendly to me and my children. She has doughnut holes, water, toys, stuffed animals, ect. which, to me, speaks "kid friendly." No, she doesn't have a computerized system with all the books listed, but that's part of the fun. If you don't have time to plunder around some, then come back when you do have time. It's not hopeless. She does have a system. One more good thing about the Book Lady is that she gives a discount to home-schoolers. Try it... I promise you try it again.
