Great for maternity clothes
by Fannyflay
This place is great for getting gently used items at a great price. This is my third baby and it's been 12 years since my last so I don't have anything and really don't want to spend a fortune on clothes that will be used for only a short time. I got some GREAT summer maternity clothes. 12 tops, 4 capri pants, 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of shorts, and a summer dress for about $100! You just can't beat that. Everything had been taken care of nicely so the clothes look practically new. We are very lucky to live in a city where we have access to OUAC. My sister is 175 mile from the nearest one and is wishing she were here... as for the other poster... I really don't have any experience with selling to them.... I hope when I'm done with these clothes I can sell them back and not have any issues.
- Pros: Great selections
- Cons: None that I could see
Comments on customer reviews
by Newmanager1
I am the new manager and I don't like to read bad reviews. We are trying to assist every customer that walks into our store. We can not purchase items that we are currently overstocked on or items that are not selling well for us. We do purchase items that are gently used and any brands that sell well for us. If you can call the store to see what we are overstocked in first before bringing items in would be helpful for our customers and us.
After sorts are done we put the items that we would like to purchase in our blue basket and then we put the items that we can not purchase back into your container that you bring in with an explanation of why we don't purchase them. We do replace all items back into your container we don't keep anything that we are not purchasing. If everyone would bring in a covered container it would be really helpful then we will not have comments on items being not returned to them.
The main reason the website doesn't advise what each store is overstocked on is due to every store is different. Please call the store that you are planning on visiting before your trip in to see if they are currently overstocked on.
We are not an consignment store we don't pay with percentages we are a resale store and we purchase items directly from you. You don't have to wait until items are sold to receive your store credit, trade out in store or cash.
We are always accepting all seasons of clothing, equipment and furniture.
I would like to know of any complaints in the store before you leave so they can be handle immediately. We always like to hear good comments also.
Don't trust them with your clothes
by disappointed7
I had never consigned clothes before and decided to at the Once Upon a Child located off of Pinville Mathews Rd. Trusting that they are honest about not steeling your clothes, I dropped off a box with clothes and came back to decide if I was going to sell what they wanted to buy. What they wanted to pay for a few items was NOTHING compared to what they would have sold it for, so I decided not to sell anything and keep all my daughters clothes. I decided to re-fold all the clothes and noticed a four piece outfit missing. The only reason I noticed was because one of the four piece items was still in the box. I got so heated I stomped back into that store and demanded the rest of the outfit. Come to find out the item just ?disappeared?. The store decided to pay me for the item and raised he** for $30.00. I explained that I wanted this amount for my time, the outfit, the situation, and not to mention I don?t know how many other items of mine were missing as well. The manager was so furious, that she FINALLY gave in and told me she would mail me the check and without saying another word, rudely hung up the phone on me! Lesson learned? MAKE A CHECKLIST and inventory your items before leaving! To be honest, I wasn?t so upset about the clothes ? it was the principle and the fact that this could have happened to many people already without them even noticing and the only ones benefiting is them.
- Pros: Inclosed playarea for children if parent is shopping
- Cons: lots of old harshly used clothes
