Great find!. Something different and definitely worth checking out! Unique menu and the fish tacos are excellent. They also make a mean margarita!! Go on a date or with a group of friends. Just go early b/c it gets crowded.
love it love it love it. The ambiance, service, food, everything. The shells are so crispy and delicious. I find myself craving to drive across town to be there. You feel like you are on a vacation at the beach. NODA is just so eclectic, just a great part of Charlotte.
Great place for visitors!. I recently had two of my best friends in town to visit and we went to Cabo for dinner. The food was great, the service was fast & friendly, did I mention the food was great? Their specials are always wonderful. I would definitely recommend this any time.
Unique fare with a Southwestern flair..
The Scene
Located in Charlotte's burgeoning NODA arts district, this seafood grill draws a diverse crowd of locals, from suburbanites and families to hipsters, couples, and business people. A relaxed atmosphere, consistently good food and efficient service keep them all coming back for more.
The Food
Described on the menu as "inspired Southwest cuisine with a coastal twist," Cabo's dishes are prepared from the freshest of ingredients and are original derivatives of Southern California and coastal Baja Mexico fare. Standout starters include a chilled, succulent fresh shrimp served in a martini glass and tasty, colorful veggie rolls served hot over nopalitos (baby cactus) with a roasted red pepper aioli. The signature dish, the Cabo fish taco, is a surprisingly successful and flavorful combination of beer-battered cod, veggies, cheese and a cilantro-yogurt sauce. Skip the unimpressive desserts and wash things down with the original Caborita or any of the many specialty margaritas.
West Coast vibe in Charlotte. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. I was roped in originally by the Grilled Tuna Tacos and Epic Tuna Burrito, but upon sampling their specials, they had me hooked for good. Cabo has a very unique selection of foods for Charlotte (or the whole Southeast for that matter). Having tasted fish tacos in California, I have to rate these as good or better. The chef is also always coming up with inventive and delicious specials. You should give them a try if you go. The shrimp and crab dip is an excellent starter. The Dos Equis pitchers and excellent margaritas are a plus as well.
Outstanding!. I've always heard about the fish tacos over on the West Coast and when you try Cabo's version you'll understand what all the rave is about. Dining here was one of the few times in Charlotte that I thought I was in a different city. The laid back decor, chill reggae music in the air, and surf videos on the tubes...tremendous!
great tacos. while not as "authentically" mexican as some place like "la unica" cabo fish taco is a great deal for the money. the shrimp tacos were delicious and the "cheapo" margarita was the best cheap margarita i've ever had bar none. definately worth a try though i imagine on weekends the place must get packed and terribly noisy.
