Not only do they have the rudest employees ever they lie when you sign up and they oddly loose your letter to cancel their membership. The gym has equipment that doesn't alway work, the trainers follow you around stalking you to sign up with them, it is hot has hell in the summer and it isn't alway clean. A $20 membership has turned into me owing $179 for 4 months. Find another gym or save yourself a lot of money and walk or run outside for free.
They take advantage of their employees.... They don't pay their employees overtime! Don't support this place!
Lost $70 in a 3 day trial.
DO NOT JOIN THIS HORRIBLE CLUB!!! They offer you a 3 day evaluation period and once you find the club in horrible disrepair with old broken equipment and dirty conditions that aggravate allergies, they refuse to refund the full amount.
They basically stole $70 from me. Don't let it happen to you. There are much better gyms all over the area.
Horrible customer service and unfriendly staff. If you join this gym you will be approached several times to sign up Professional Fitness for a personal trainer. DO NOT SIGN UP! Like Peak, their customer service is horrible, especially if you want to cancel your contract. Even if you follow the guidelines (as I did), they will continue to withdraw money from you. Do not give them access to your bank account. Also know that if you need to cancel a contract, you might as well donate a kidney to them as well, because that is what it takes. I cancelled mine 5 months ago, and am still fighting with their corporate office, that is when they answer. They will not call me back and usually the line "goes dead" before I can even speak to anyone.
Clearing it up. As I former employee of a different location of Peak Fitness, I feel the need to clear up some things I have seen in reviews on this site. The contracts at this place of business are more clear than many others that I have seen. If people have billing issues with the company, it's probably because of their own personal errors. Like with any CONTRACT, there is a mandatory cancellation policy, as well as directions on the proper way to cancel. After finding another job and losing the free membership I received as an employee, I quickly joined back up as a member and have had no issues. I now frequent the Matthews location and have no issues.
Rude Staff. The gym is great when there A/C is in working order although there "staff of teenagers" are the rudest people ever. If Peak was smart they would hire some actual intellegent highly trained professionals, although then they would have to actually pay them properly. God forbid you have to ask one of these "teenagers" to do anything for you, you'll get a smug remark behind your back and an ill fated note put on your member file. Lighten up "lil teenagers" its just a gym!
