Rock Hill's Best Mexican Food. My family has been loyal customers of Charanda's Mexican Restaurant as long as it has been in Rock Hill. The food is always good and the waiters are so personable. Service has always been exceptional. We celebrate birthdays there and they are always willing to accommodate our needs. FUN PLACE !!!

RIDICULOUSLY BAD SERVICE & HORRIBLE FOOD. This was THE worst restaurant experience of my entire life...and I dine our heavily!!!

Basically, they botched up my order, and gave me the wrong items. When I took a bite and realized it was not what I ordered, I flagged the waiter. Then the Manager/Owner, Freddie Ramirez, came out, and was beyond RUDE. He did not even apologize, refused to send me even the wrong portion of my plate (a frickin' chicken enchilada LOL!), and just kept saying it's too late, and you've already ate half the plate (which by the way was BS...I only ate a small portion of the rice, and some of the beef burrito...the WRONG order, chicken enchilada, and beans were barely touched). UNBELIEVABLE! No discount, no apology, nothing!!! And OH, the food was worse than El Cancun...VERY substandard.

Ridiculously bad service, Horrible Food...a total waste of time and money to go here...so just don't!

Charanda NEWPORT Review: Just DON'T!. Sorry, I went out of my way to try out the new Charanda out by the Newport Walmart. My mistake. I was REALLY in the mood for a margarita. Ordered the House, Medium. It came to the table... after we got cold stale chips. I can't remember the last time a mexican restaurant did that. I tasted the margarita. It was water. I mean, it tasted like water with a slight hint of tart at the end. This had little to no resemblance with a margarita. No tang, ni zip, no TEQUILA. We asked them to bring us a fresh batch. They were better, actually tasted like sour mix and maybe tequila. Not spectacular, but not water.

We both ordered the Fajita taco salad. What do YOU expect in a taco salad? The LAST THING I expect is for the bottom of the taco shell to be filled with steaming hot refried beans. Are you serious???? It made the salad, which other than refried beans had a little meat, a little shredded lettuce, a little pico, and mostly cheese sour cream and guac into a muddy soup. It was NOT a salad, it was a Tostada Supreme. And it was $10!

For $45, I got out of there with two mediocre margaritas, and two awful taco salads. It may have turned me off to the whole chain. Which I have never had a problem with before.

Oh yeah, on top of that, the decor is bland, and we got seated in the center area... a couple, on a date... next to a family with screaming kids. We were the only ones they seated in there while we were there. Did we offend someone in some way?

Never going back.

Best Mexican Food Around. This is truly the best mexican food in the area. We measure all of them to Charanda's. No comparison, Great service, Great food, Great servers. What else do you want? Would highly recommend!!!

Beware unsuspecting Customers!!. The service was extremely poor. I understand that we were a rather large party of roughly ten people. However, every time we needed our server we had to ask someone to get him for us. He messed up our drink and food order. Lastly, they stole my camera on my twenty first birthday with all my photos and did not care at all. The camera was brand new, i had just bought it the day before. I use to love charandas, but beware customers, they were extremely rude about the whole situation and thought they could just steal my camera and i wouldn't care. Everyone that goes here just be EXTRMELY careful with your personal belongings!!

Best Mexican food around. We had great service, delicious sangria, the best Mexican food I have had in this area (including Charlotte). Can't wait to eat there again! The salsa served with the chips was very tasty, spicy and flavorful; two kinds were served - one was a mild one and the other was a more spicy version.
