Tips for Sushi 101

No No No. I had to write this because I'm sick of hearing about how good this place is. I'm not one to outright bash any place, but their sushi is very sub-par compared to most places in Charlotte. I felt ripped off every time I ate there. The fish didn't seem all that fresh, the rice was bland and overcooked, and as far as the rolls go, I could roll them better. The only good thing I found was their noodle bowls, although for what they are they're expensive. And yes, I've been there at least 5 times, and I wanted to like it because of the atmosphere, but I won't be wasting any more money there. Go there at your own risk.

The Best Sushi Experiance EVER!!!. I only started eating Sushi about 4 years ago and now I have been to more sushi places than I can remember. I have yet to find anything that compares to Sushi 101. The variety is unsurpassed. The noodle bowls are amazing. I have friends that didn't eat sushi and they have now started because of Sushi 101. My own dad would eat only cooked sushi till I talked him into trying the Ahi Poke and he loved it.

I do have 1 issue there isn't a Sushi 101 on the north side of charlotte but I still drive for it because they are worth every penny.

And for those of you have seafood allergies they even have a soy paper wrap instead of nori that you can put on the vegetarian rolls like Sweat potato, asparagus, chicken and others so you can enjoy the sushi experience as well.

Excellent Sushi & Presentation. My first impression of Sushi 101 (providence rd location) was that it seemed small and crowded. Our visit was on a Friday night, and the place was PACKED. Regardless, our service was relatively fast. The rolls & nigiri we ordered were EXCELLENT. Everything was very good. We ordered a variety of their specialty rolls and traditional rolls and had no complaints. We will definately return. BTW, the aioli sauce was very good and seasoned on my visit, perhaps that previous reviewer who didn't like it visited on an off-night.

Ugh. This restaurant started off well, but has gone downhill recently. Wait staff is overwhelmed at the Woodlawn location and inexperience AND overwhelmed at their new Promenade location.

The sushi is good, if and when, it arrives. The spider rolls, which used to be fantastic, were greasy and soggy on a recent visit.

Noodle bowls are done better at the newly opened Mama Fu's. My recent order was incorrectly stir fried instead of in soup. The kitchen's solution? They took it back in and added hot water.

Best I've had in a long time. I would have never expected this little place to have such good sushi. It ranks up there with some of the best sushi places in NYC....or at least for the food maybe not the ambiance. It's fairly inexpensive and even delivers!

Horrible Service. Sushi 101 was one of my favorite places to get sushi before the service and food went down hill. This is one of those restaurants that used to be good, but has slacked off now that they have customers. The past few times I've gone I've felt more of a hassle to the staff then someone they want to be there. The rolls are also shrinking each time I go. It's back to Rusan's for me!!

Look no further for good sushi!. I can not say enough how much I enjoy Sushi 101!

I moved to Charlotte a year ago and was so happy to find a sushi place with such an awesome selection and a fun, funky ambience!

My personal favorite is the Rainbow roll and the calamari is the best in town(i think).

Its really reasonably priced and eveybody is always friendly.

The art that decorates the walls is really impressive and adds so much to the atmosphere.

I've never actually written a restaraunt review before, but this is by far my favorite and several of my friends' favorite place for fresh sushi!!
