This Caribou is on Fairvew between Colony and Philips Place. This little mall (Foxcroft?) is fantastic; there's a Blockbuster, a really good Brixx, a Ben & Jerry's, a post office, and a Caribou. I live back down Colony, and this little mall is so convenient I come by often -- and this Caribou is well on its way to weaning me off the big SB. The people here are very competent. I worked in a coffee shop in my teens so I know how to judge baristas. They've never messed up my order, and I'm complicated! This Caribou has a lot of sitting space and some nice couches, too -- good for hanging out.

Caribou coffee is much better quality than Starbucks. It's smooth and successfully provides that needed pick-me-up. Their variety of beans is phenomenal and their hot tea isn't bad either. If you want a foo foo sweet beverage visit starbucks but if you enjoy a palatable cup of black coffee make your way over to Caribou.

Why is a cup of coffee open for review? Well, I'll tell you. For many of us, Starbuck's was the only java offering in CLT, unless you have the time to stop by a crowded Dean & Deluca on your way to work, in which case you might as well brew at home because you have too much time on your hands, but now that there is a few Caribou's around, I feel like my loyalties have shifted. Not only do I prefer the mild coffee of Caribou, the staff is extremely welcoming and accomadating and obviously happy to be working there. I drink iced coffee and they have the best IC in the county. No more Starbuck's for me. Try this place for a better tasting, less expensive, friendly option.
