For the past 30 Years, La Paz has strived to be Charlotte's best Mexican Restaurant, and with awards like Best Margarita, Best Vegetarian, Best Mexican, and Best Drink Specials who can argue? La Paz is a full service restaurant with a full bar, high deff TV's, and friendly service. Now serving Brunch on Sundays, La Paz also offers a great Catering Service that can be custom made to spice up your party or event just the way you want it.

The Scene – Located in a set of renovated warehouses and factories in the historic South End, La Paz has a distinctly urban look to it, though it manages to retain a sense of warmness. Curves and the color purple liven up the interior almost as much as the famously potent margaritas do the patrons. – – The Food – The food, though a bit pricey for South of the Border items, will remind you that Mexican cuisine can actually be good. It's not as authentic as some of the places farther down South Boulevard, but you'll enjoy upscale versions of burritos, nachos and…

the salsa tasted like it just came out of a can..service is just ok..food is way too expensive for the stuff they actually serve you. I've tried and given this place 4 tries now..every time trying something different. It got worse each time. The nice patio and view looking over S. Blvd is the only good thing I can really say about this place
Food is mediocre at best..

The enchiladas had very little sauce, even smaller amount of filling, rice was pre-packaged mexican rice & the salsa was TERRIBLE..new to the area, very disappointed with the first Mexican restaurant I have tried in NC.
better than ever

Who ever has done it! The old lapaz is back. We went Saturday night and had to wait for 45 min and it was worth it. The live music was fantastic. It happened to be Jimbo Chapman with Craven Melon. The place was rockin. I had the filet mignon fajitas which were out of this world and my date had shrimp fajitas. The chips and salsa rounded out the meal and as always the margaritas are truely the best in Charlotte. The waitstaff was very attentive even when things weren't quite right. If you haven't been to La Paz in a while it is a must go to restaurant for 2008.
- Pros: valet parking, music
- Cons: none
