Old fashioned caring

when i moved here from NYC, i asked around for a good GYN, many women mentioned Laurel, that was 8 years ago and i'm still with them. The staff is dedicated, friendly and well trained. Dr. Stephens takes her time with you, she doesn't rush thru her exams, she looks you straight in the eye, chats a while.. like i said old fashioned caring, something lacking in these big franchised like practices.. much love to Dr. S and her staff.

Stay away from Dr. Stephens

Right after I found out I was pregnant I was rushed to the hospital with complications. After I was released Dr. Stephens did not feel it necessary to see me. I even wrote her a letter describing how disappointed I was in the handling of the situation and never heard from her.

It was then that I decided it was time to find a new OB and while I was searching online for a new OB I stumbled across and article in the Charlotte Observer about how Dr. Stephens was being sued by a patient.....I was not surprised at all.

She and her staff had no regard for my health or the health of my baby. I quickly changed to a new OB who I love.

Great OB/Gyn

First time reviewer here, but wanted to share my experience because it can be hard to find a good doctor in Charlotte.

I've been a patient of Laurel Ob/Gyn for many years but only recently began seeing Dr. Stephens. Until now, I had only seen her PA and was totally satisfied with the services provided. I had no problems, no growing family, and only needed annual exams. Going to the OB/Gyn was never on the top of my "fun" list and I was fine with seeing Dr. Stephens only once a year. However, I now know that having a good doctor in your corner is very important when emergency situations arise.

I recently had an emergency that required an OB/Gyn. Other than an annual exam, I'd never had any experience with Dr. Stephens, but we called on her for help. She stepped up and helped me through a very difficult time with compassion for both me and my significant other. She has a very natural, calming humor about her that makes it clear that you are in good hands. It's a unique combination of confidence and compassion. She explains things clearly and thoroughly and weighs in with her own personal experience when asked. It was comforting to hear about the choices she made when faced with a similar situation.

I'm still recovering from surgery. Everything went very well and no complications. While it is now doubtful that I will ever have an emergency need for Dr. Stephens again, I was fortunate to be able to call on her when I needed her.

I highly recommend Dr. Stephens and her staff.
