Where the heart of Charlotte's arts community lives.. The Skinny
Inside Blumenthal itself are Belk Theatre, named for the Belk Brothers Company which provided much of the funding for the Center's construction, and Booth Playhouse, a slightly smaller, more intimate stage. The center has only been open since 1992, but has already seen more than 2.5 million people pass through its doors.

Try to catch something from the Broadway Light Series; these are top-notch, bona fide New York-type shows produced with touring companies, such as "Footloose," "Rent" and "Stomp." The Blumenthal provides a home for several of Charlotte's dramatic and musical organizations, including the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Opera Carolina, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Charlotte Choral Society and the Carolinas Concert Association.
