GRRRREAT!!!!. I know Steak 'n Shake from up north and I was so pleased when they came to Charlotte. The food is just as wonderful as I remember from my childhood. It's rare that such great places from your childhood are still around to share with your own children. It is always a treat. Sometimes I even crave it! I'm a fan of Wendy's but not even they can compete!

Shake up the night with some grub from this 24-hour hot spot.. The Scene
Though there are Steak n' Shakes all over the United States, this little diner hasn't lost its small-town feel. The old-timey booths, chrome accents and consistently friendly service make it seem more like you're in a mom 'n' pop soda shop than a big chain restaurant.

The Food
There's no question about the best food to order at Steak n' Shake: steak--in the form of a hamburger, that is--and shakes. The burgers are hearty, satisfying and without the abundance of grease one usually associates with diner food. The rich, creamy shakes are served in a tall, frosty glass for added authenticity. For the perfect Steak n' Shake meal, try the bacon cheeseburger deluxe dinner (served with a gooey Velveeta-style cheese) complemented with a large chocolate shake. If red meat isn't your thing, give the chicken Frisco sandwich a whirl, but be sure to keep the shake.

awesome. Always consistant, never greasy or dry. The single burgers are a bit on the small side so would recommend getting the double or triple.
