Best Local Brunch Place in Charlotte. Eddie's was recommended to me by a friend. We went there around 11 am on a Saturday morning - big mistake...Everyone had already gotten the brunch memo. This local place is packed with customers during the weekends. Their coffee is amazing and so is their food. The waiters are friendly and they serve the best egg and chorizzo breakfast wrap (if you're so lucky to find it on the menu). Every friend of mine is guaranteed a weekend brunch at Eddie's when they come to visit. Great Place, GREAT food.
Great local atmosphere! Great food!.
New to Charlotte, looking for a great breakfast place... (I'm not sure, some "Best of" lists, show Hardee's as #1)... so... wanted to try Eddie's Place...
This was a nice neighborhood restaurant with local flavor. Sat up at the bar for Sunday brunch as there was a wait outdoors for inside tables... the staff was very friendly, and the food was great.
Happy that it is non-smoking as well! Will definitely return.
Relaxed atmosphere. The place is really lay'd back, a casual atmosphere. It does remind me of New Orleans - not the Bourbon Street tourist type NOLA, but the Uptown, lay'd back parts of New Orleans. Come hungry - portions are generous. A plate of fried oysters is plenty to fill you up, without any appetizer, and enough to take home for the next day. We like the one on Sharon Amity; there's another one in Ballentyne, but it's less homey, less welcoming. Very reasonably priced, too.
Great Breakfast esp. with Kids. This place has a great breakfast-"creative" homestyle food. Portions are substantial, well prepared and promptly served. Staff is attentive. We did not care for the smoking however it is to be non smoking in 2007 and then we'll be sure to return to Eddies.
Great Breakfast!. We went on a crowded Saturday morning & were seated fairly quickly. The food was great & the cheese grits were wonderful! A good energy & great food.
Good Food, Great breakfast. Good Eats! Breakfast had everything from pancakes to a crabmeat omlette. The service is quick and you're in and out in 30 minutes. Highly Recommended!
Good Breakfast. Convenient and good eats! If it's not on the menu, ask and they'll probably make it for ya... Breakfast is big and the coffee is good. Try the hot dogs for lunch all the way... the fries are awesome. Also the grilled veggie sandwich actually has some FLAVA...
The name says it all: Danny owns it (he also owns Hotel Charlotte next door) and Eddie runs it (he's the gregarious fellow who knows everybody)..
The Scene
This place has it all. Breakfast is served all day, with French toast and omelets being standouts. The rest of the menu is low country--with a dash of New Orleans--and down-home.
The Food
Eddie's has frog legs, fried oysters, crawfish fritters, shrimp and grits, create-your-own Creole, I could go on. The menu isn't particularly lengthy, but for some reason I take longer to decide what to eat here than anywhere else in town. Maybe it's because the staff is so darn nice, they let me. I always get the same thing, though: she-crab soup (named the city's best soup by Charlotte magazine) and a hot dog at lunch, sub in shrimp and grits for dinner. Nighttime also features live music.
Great!. We always enjoy Danny's Too! Their omelettes are great, the she-crab soup is exquisite, and their specials are always "special" (in the good way). If you go back more than a couple of times, the waiters will remember you and make you feel "special" (in the good way).
