BOUNCER ABUSES PATRON DUE TO
On Saturday November 10, 2012 four friends and I were in town to watch my son perform at Winthrop University. Following the performance, we had all planned to visit Coyote Joes, which is a sister company to the Blind Horse Saloon, located in Greenville, SC.
My son and four of his friends joined us. My son and his four friends are all nineteen years old, so of course they were unable to have alcoholic drinks, but that was okay, they all had to perform early the next morning. We were all having a great time until after we finished dancing. My son was really hot, and needed to go out and cool off. He and one of my friends started walking across the room towards the smoking area. As he approached the exit, he reached in his pocket to pull out a lighter and when he did, a bouncer grabbed him, and shoved him into the exit door, and threw him out of the bar without saying a word about the reason why. My friend contacted me to come out to the smoking area. Once I arrived at the smoking area, she explained what had happened. I approached one of the bouncers, and he was clueless as to what had happened.
I then went to the front entrance and ask to see a manager. I was met by a couple of bouncers who wanted to know what the problem was. I explained what had happened, and they called the bouncer who actual threw my son out to the front entrance. As he approached and I began to try to question him and get clarification as to why he threw my son out, he takes my drink and begins to try to escort me outside the building. I refused to go outside before receiving an explanation. He then told me as my son was walking across the bar, and started out to the smoking area; he picked up a drink that didn’t belong to him off of a table during passing and took a drink. Really? Please! Can you imagine just walking up to a strangers table and taking a drink of their drink? This did not occur! My son is OCD and would have never taken a drink of anyone’s drink, especially a stranger. I explained this to the manager, and he immediately defended the bouncer without any further investigation. The management was not interested in hearing any other side of the story. Members of the group we came with could attest to the fact my son never touched an alcoholic drink that night, and the event that supposedly occurred.
My son is a performer, which has allowed my friends and me to visit numerous establishments such as Coyote Joes, and NEVER have I seen or experienced such low class employees, who treat customers as if they are expendable and worthless. My son was not only humiliated by the incident, but felt he was being personally discriminated against due to his “look” and his common stereo type as a male performer. Hand print bruises were left on my sons’ arm, which had to be covered for his early morning performance. Bruises he received while being handled with unnecessary roughness.
As the bouncer grabbed my drink from my hand, it spilled all over my $550.00 boots, which are now stained. It is unbelievable to me that men who are supposed to be working as professionals, are actually behaving like scorned children on the playground and using the patrons of the establishment to do so. It has now become my obligation to inform each of you who may even consider visiting Coyote Joes to rethink your decision. If you want to be mistreated, abused, and treated as if you are non-existent Coyote Joes is the place to be. I would not suggest, or recommend, my worst enemy step a foot in this establishment! By becoming a member of Coyote Joes, you will be encouraging their poor work ethic, discriminator behavior, willingness to use unnecessary roughness towards helpless customers, empowering their ego infused attitudes that cause a demeanor to which everyone is inferior, and their unfair treatment against innocent bystanders.
Great Place to go!!.
ALWAYS have a great time at Coyote Joe's. Very friendly and attentive staff and always feel safe because their bouncers are always alert and don't play when it comes to issues which are few and far between. Band is fantastic and love the selection of top 40/dance music later in the evening. I always feel so at home :)
Can't wait to get back and thanks for doing such a great job Coyote Joe's!!
You're in for a good time!. I had so much fun here with my girls! the music is awesome, and the dancing...FUN FUN FUN! We saw Eric Church here last year, live music always ads to the fun and they have someone different all the time. Highly rec this bar to all!
CIAA Report - 03/05/11 Great Day Party!.
CIAA 2011 report - Sat 03/05/11
Thanks to the folks at Coyote Joe's, the Circle of friends was able to put on a Day Party During the tournament.
Coyote Joe's is more of a western / country venue for bands and alike.
The staff did a great job putting on the event. The Circle of Friends provided the turnout and Dj (Syd was ok) and raised a lot of money for scholarships.
They had a turnout of about 2500 to 3000 folks a Sat. full of rain showers, But the club is spacious and well kept.
They have plenty of parking and room on the dance floor too.
So thanks again to Coyote Joe's and the Circle of Friends for a wonderful event.
The Tanglewood crew could have gave the mic a bit of a break,
We had a great time and will be back in 2012.
PRETTY GOOD. I HAVE BEEN GOING HERE FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS OFF AND ON.....NOT A HUGE BAR HOPPER......LOVE IT HERE.....MOST OF THE BAR TENDERS I KNOW FROM THE YEARS OF COMING HERE.....WE ONLY GO ABOUT 4 OR 5 TIMES A YEAR BUT EVERYONE ALWAYS HAS A GREAT TIME!! THERE BAND IS FANTASTIC THEY PLAY ALL VARIETIES......I AM 23 AND I HAVE BEEN GOIN HERE SINCE I WAS 18 AND I THINK THAT I WOULD REFER THIS PLACE TO ANYONE OF ANY AGE!!! ESPECIALLY 123 NIGHT'S!!!
Good times. There are all walks of life there thats makes it very interesting. Plenty of bathrooms, definitely no waiting in line. Friendly servers/bartenders. Coat check, can pay cover with credit card. Great band. Dance floor definitely gets crowded. Huge bar. The bar itself gets crowded, but that actually shows that its a good time. Plays all kinds of music, not just country.
Best Purple hooter shooters I have ever had. This club is a great place to go. Musics good but if you dont love all country music all the time then this club isnt for you. I must say though last time I went some of the locals werent to kind of someone other then white coming into the bar not saying they arent welcome but that is what I saw. Purple hooter shooters are awesome here and my husband liked the mixed drinks too. Club is often crowded and if your not a smoker believe me youll come out smelling like it so dont enter if you cant take the smoke. Otherwise have fun and party hard
I love It!!. I love Coyote Joes because the first night i went 3 years ago everyone was really nice! When I joined the Air Force and had to leave everyone helped me enjoy my last few nights there...now when I go home I have to go back!!! I never new how to line dance but after a few lessons and everyone teaching me I learned a few!! I am now of age so when I go home i can drink with my friends and have fun! It is a place to go see!!
Been there, done that!. This is the worst country bar we have ever been to. Very rowdy and dancers have no manners and have never been taught dance floor etiquette. Even had money stolen that was left on our table for the waitress when she took our drink order. If you want to visit a true country bar and ever get to Indianapolis - go to 8 Seconds Saloon. Nothing in Charlotte compares.
The most awesome place !!!. I'm from Georgia and a friend of mine took me to Coyote Joe's for my birthday and it is the most awesome place.. The bartenders are awesome, the prices are great.. and good lordy them cowboys in there will make you drool! Everybody was nice as they could be while we were there. Couldnt have asked for a better place to go.
