Charlotte's Only Art House. While it's not on par with a Los Angeles or New York art house theater, Charlotte's own Manor Theater continues in the tradition with its eclectic selections of "off the beaten path" films. From foreign films with (gasp) SUBTITLES, to risque big city flicks with (clutch the pearls) gay/lesbian themes, to disturbing documentaries . . . this is about the only place in Charlotte to find a decent low budget indy or import.

Individuality is the name of the game at the Manor Theater..
What's So Special?
The Manor is the jewel of the Queen City. Known for its high quality of films, the Manor built its reputation by showing the finest in indie, classic and foreign titles.
Not So Fast
Though some would prefer the Manor to offer only art-house films, the theater does mix in a few current favorites. Though it's not a modern-day theater with more amenities than anyone could ever want, it is a top-notch, old-school theater everyone should enjoy visiting.
No Rush
Unlike the multiplexes around town, long lines are usually not a problem here.

The art house theater in Charlotte. The Manor Theatre is old and dingy, but it's the only place to see many art house movies in Charlotte. Make sure you check the papers regularly to see what's there - movies come and go very quickly.
